Everything was great and fine until I reached the cashier. Due to the fact that the restaurant looks like a buffet, which turned out to be an expensive experience in KL. My only issue about this restaurant is the way they charge!!
So, when you go in, you take an empty plate and pick whatever you want like in a buffet. Then, you proceed to the cash register, but the way the cashier tries to figure out how much you took to determine the bill is absolutely hinky suspicious.
My bill was a steep one compared to most restaurants and street food around the area. I asked the cashier how he deduced for the amount of my bill, and he used his 9 fingers, showing me how he counted it. LOL, he obviously overcharged me, and you can't reason with that type of person.
Customers should know how much they are charged for how much food. Should there be a scale or measuring spoon or ladle, like for 1 ladle or spoon, it is this much of RM.
Even for just a little sauce, no meat, they charged me. Charged me for how much - I don't really know!!
Dear owner, either you charge by weight, but the rice should be weighed separately cause it's cheaper. Or you make it like a buffet cause your setting is like a buffet.
I gave you 2 stars 🌟 cause your food rescued you from that 1 star rating. The food is great !! But solve the way you charge, make it transparent!!.
P.S. my rule of thumb, especially as tourists, always try to pay before getting served or know the price beforehand....
Read moreAfter coming here for dinner several times this past 11 days, I am updating this review to two or three stars at best.
Although there are many choices to pick from, it’s disappointing that all of the vegetable choices are rather oily and many of them over cooked. The meat choices are often covered in thick batter, and some of it you cannot tell if it is pork, chicken or beef and you need to ask (no food labeling or prices posted). The biggest downer is that the only warm food you will get is the white rice, all the other food items are laid out at room temperature. I enjoy having warm or preferably near hot food - room temperature food is not exciting.
Price wise, it could be a fair deal if you eat a lot of rice, and some non-meat items, but the pricing is a mystery and appears arbitrary. When you go to pay, there is a scale to weigh your food, but the cashiers don’t bother using it. They just look at your plate of food and kind of move it around to eyeball it and charge you. One time, I had fish and two vegetable items, and they charge me 18RM! I felt cheated, but didn’t bother to argue. All my other meals were about the same but I was charged between 10 and 13RM, zero idea why that one time was 18RM other than the cashier was a young tall guy with glasses and maybe he thought it’s ok to cheat a foreigner.
Likely won’t be dining here again when there are so many good and inexpensive options around the neighboring streets...
Read moreIt's not a bad place to have a meal, they have a wide variety of choices to choose from. If you're short on cash just veggies won't cost you very much. Leave the fish alone and stay away from the meat, then it won't cost you a fraction. Have eaten here a couple of times with different combinations just to know the prices, I have paid between RM6/- to RM12/- then again, I am not complaining about paying more because of the meat or fish combo. During lunch or dinner normally pretty crowded. If you are hungry and would want a quick meal, here's the place for you if you're around Pudu Plaza area but remember not to drive, it's difficult to get parking space. Overall, I'm ok with this place and with the cooking. Oh I forgot to mention Chinese tea is free. Give me a Like if you find this article...
