This was the highlight of our KL trip! It was for a birthday celebration and we couldn't be happier than spending it here.
The pin location on google maps is slightly off, its really just on the side of the street, right on the corner.
The chef owner was so good and very accommodating. They even got the kopi from the opposite mamak.
There was a very kind lady who explained the menu to us, we got the best recommendations from her. We got the pork belly part, bec she said a bit of fat is good, and it is very good! We also got the youtiao to dip in the soup. This place also got her stamp of approval as being one of the places serving traditional Klang valley bak kut teh. We were so thankful for her help!
Now unto the food: The meat is so tender! And don't get me started on the soup. The soup was so delicious, its medium thick. You can even only eat the soup with the rice and it would be a perfect meal already.
We missed on the chicken feet, it got sold out fast! Tho to be fair, we went there late, around lunch time.
The veggies are also delicious! And the youtiao was fluffy and took to the soup quite well. The chef was also very generous with the soup refills! We got second servings of rice because of that. We were fully stuffed at the end of the meal.
Overall, even after a week of leaving KL, I still think about this food and I want to go back and eat...
Read moreTraditional Klang style bak kut teh. The soup is thick and emulsified with fat which is the signature of the Klang style BKT. Not overly herbal and served in individual bowls.
The Big Bone (fore shank) was sinfully gelatinous. The intestines were well cleaned had a nice bite. Both are Highly Recommended.
On a recent visit, we tried the newly added menu item, Dry Bak Kut Teh. This was very aromatic and tasty due to generous amount of dried squid strips added. Slices of ladies finger were also added.
The Yow Char Kuey are refried before serving so it reaches the table hot and crispy. Kudos to the boss Ah Ting who will give you free soup refills, which is great to dunk the YCK into. 👍🏽
Vegetables are balanced and topped with shallot oil or garlic. Rice is topped with aromatic fried shallots which are very aromatic...
Read moreWanted to try Bak Kut Teh while traveling in KL and found this restaurant on google maps. It was super tasty and meat was so tender. Boss was super friendly introducing us the menu as we clearly didn’t know what to do. We also ordered the handmade fish balls and dry noodle. My husband doesn’t usually like the fish balls but he enjoyed this one very much! Thank you, boss for...
