This steakhouse is among the better steakhouses in Kuala Lumpur. It is located next to The Whiskey Bar along the Changkat street. Upon entering, the interior of this restaurant speaks of old-American steakhouse with brick walls and dimly lit interior.
We started off the meal with some complimentary bread and butter. The bread was warm and butter freshly made. We were also served mushroom soup compliments from the chef. It had good consistency and bits of mushrooms within. Next were the Crab Cakes and Beef Capparcio. The Crab Cakes has a good amount of crab meat inside and cooked just right while maintaining the moisture. Beef Capparcio was thinly sliced and did not break easily. The seasoning was on point and had a good amount of Parmesan cheese shavings. The serving was enough for 2-3 adults.
Next we had the main course including a Tenderloin steak (200g), Striploin (300g) and BBQ Short Ribs. The Tenderloin was served Medium Rare but it was slightly too dry for our liking. The seasoning was on point. The sides of Battered Onion Rings felt unnecessary. It was too hard and not crunchy. Seasoned vegetables were used as the base for the steak and had a good bite to them. They were well seasoned and not overly cooked. As for the potato side, do go for their Garlic Mash. The Baked Potato was undercooked and dry. The Striploin steak was much better given the amount of fat with the cut. It was juicy and well seasoned. All the steaks came with a side of Salsa as well which had a good flavour and sharpness to it. They also served the steaks with 5 different kinds of salts which helped elevate the flavour of the steak. A nice touch that helped make this place standout. Though I would have preferred if they served some mustard with the steak. The sauces were quite redundant as the steaks tasted much better without them. But if you had to choose a sauce, go for the Red Wine. Lastly, the BBQ Short Ribs were soft and moist with the meat falling off the bone with ease.
The meal ended with a Crepe Suzette which was prepared tableside. It tasted okay and slightly too sweet for our liking.
Overall, this place is on par with steakhouses like Beato and Ril’s in term of price point and quality of steaks. If you are looking for a steak joint within downtown KL city, do give this...
Read more1 November 2019 - THe 3 of us came for the Iberico lamb and it did not disappoint. We began with the pumpkin soup and it was served with warm bread and butter and it was just delicious. Next up was the Iberico lamb loin, rack and ribs. The meat was very tasty and tender and I could not see any hint of fat on it. Served with mousseline potatoes, different from mash due to it's high butter and cream infusion, sauteed veg and others. There was no need for any gravy of any kind as the meat was perfect on it's own. We similarly ordered 3 crepe suzettes for dessert and the was the icing on the cake. Jack, made the desserts tableside and he did it meticulously. Fantastic job. Service was excellent.
12 June 2017 - Easily among the best in kl. Great food. Good service. Linked to the Whisky Bar where you can enjoy some great single malts. The complimentary mushroom soup with beef bacon was very good. Accompanied with bread and butter, i would have been very comfortable just with this if the portion was big enough. The 4 of us enjoyed two grilled prawns that came with a awesome gravy, a very good aglio and superb lamb cutlets. For dessert we had the panacotta and the crepe suzette, both of which was very good. For whisky, a 21y Glen Keith by a Malaysian independent bottler, Eiling Lim. I enjoyed it neat but towards the end i added a touch of water and boy was i blown away. It was almost a different experience. And certainly well worth the price. Kudos to Eiling...
Read moreMy family and I find ourselves coming back here whenever we have cravings for some good quality beef. Needless to say it is due to the repeated pleasant dining experience here and the good quality beef that is served. Menu is not extensive but adequate with a good array of beef and cuts served.
We opted for the 700gms and 650gms of aged grain fed beef to share amongst 4 of us. It was just right in size. The bread served with butter and potato soup was absolutely delicious. It is refillable but a word of caution is to not overdo it lest the stomach can't take the beef no more. The steaks comes with a side of potato and a selection of sauce. But you dont really need any sauce for a good and tasty steak. There is also a selection of salt which goes very well with the steak. Whisky bar is just next door hence extensive selection of liquor and wine is available.
Service is absolutely marvellous. Can't really find any fault at all to be honest. The restaurant set up is very apt for a nice dinner. Location wise is right spot on Changkat BB hence complimentary valet parking at the nearby condo is a Godsend. All adds up making us returning even after tasting all the other competitors steaks. Kudos to the team at KL...
