Ticco The Exchange TRX — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Went to Ticco for a drink. We ordered an Earl Grey area and a Laticco (since it’s their signature drink and it had a good review).

When I ordered the Laticco, the POS staff asked if I want it cold or hot. Since it’s my first visit and I had no idea what it i, I enquired which is nicer: the hot or the cold. She said the hot one. (She didn’t explain what is a Laticco.)

So I took her advice and ordered the hot one.

There is not much of service as its self-service even for dine in. Hence the 1 star.

The atmosphere is okay: clean. We were there during off peak so there were plenty of seats.

When the drinks were ready, our collection no was flashed on the board.

The Earl Grey Tea has lost its heat, it was barely warm but very thick. This means that the yea bag has stand in the cup for quite sometime. If a person adds in sugar, the sugar will not dissolve.

The Laticco: For a coffee drinker (who does not add sugar into barista-made coffee), it’s too sweet. It has a distinct coconut fast and leaves an aftertaste on the tongue after. Maybe that’s exactly how it should be. If it is, it’s not for me. Hence, the 1-star for food.

There is no photo as the drinks were served in take away cups though...

Perhaps one of the rare places which I haven't come across on social media but one item on the menu caught my eye - their 'Cloud Series'. Had to Google in front of their shop first before ordering and chose their Dark Chocolate flavour.

It's basically an affagato with two shots of espresso, dark chocolate ice-cream, two small squares of dark chocolate and bits of chocolate balls. The whole set also came with a 'cloud' of cotton candy which I removed 😂😂😂

Aesthetically speaking, the presentation looks great. In terms of taste, the espresso shots were in my opinion too bitter (over-extracted perhaps?). The bitterness was still present even when mixed with the gelato thus it was a bit of a disappointment for me as a 'coffee person'.

I was glad that I skipped the cotton candy - the gelato and chocolate balls were sweet enough for me.

Might come back and try their biscoff flavour - which comes with a vanilla gelato. Perhaps the coffee would taste better with vanilla as all...

The Laticco drink was delicious and we really enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, our experience with the cashier was unpleasant. We noticed a cookie jar labeled “free cookies,” so my brother took one and asked for confirmation. Instead of clarifying politely, the cashier abruptly snatched it away, which left us quite shocked. With a sour expression, he then told us that we needed to leave a Google review first before being entitled to the cookies.

I believe this situation could have been handled in a much friendlier and more professional way—at the very least, an explanation with a smile (and an apology) would have made a...
