Only giving 1 star because that is the lowest you can give. Recently met THE rudest, most unprofessional, untrained salesperson I have ever met in my entire life at Alo at TRX.
I bought a pair of Alo joggers from the TRX store around November 2024 during their sale period. After wearing the joggers about 3-4 times, there was a hole that appeared at the seams near the zippers. It was obvious that the threads were not sewed properly and came off due to a manufacturing defect. Since I was overseas for a while and the overseas Alo was under a different franchise that did not allow an exchange, I had to wait to come back to Malaysia to try to exchange the product.
Upon entering the store, I met this young Malay salesperson at the cashier. He was already rude from the very start. The moment I started my sentence with "I bought this a year ago..", he immediately interrupted me and said "If it's a year ago, we can't do anything". And I had to tell him to let me finish.
After explaining everything, he started giving multiple reasons as to why they could not do anything. At some point they started to sound like excuses. It started with the reason that the purchase was 1 year ago but I explained that I was overseas. Then he started asking for the physical receipt which obviously no one keeps for 1 year. Then he managed to track down the purchase but then gave a different reason that it was a sale item hence it was non exchangeable.
I tried to explain to him that even though it is a sale item, isn't it unfair to customers that there was a manufacturing defect and the item basically spoiled after 3-4 wears. To my surprise, he then said it must be because of how I wore the joggers or that I did not wash it properly. As mentioned, it was very obvious that it was a manufacturing problem so I asked him whether he was actually blaming me for the Alo's low quality product and he replied "YES".
I then asked for the manager and explained the situation to her and requested an apology from this salesperson and to my surprise again, he refused to acknowledege that he was rude at all. The manager was the one that had to apologise and gave me a 10% discount for the next purchase which there was no way in hell I am visiting this Alo branch again.
For a brand that markets itself as 'premium' atheltic wear for customers and trying to compete with Lululemon, a couple of things are unacceptable: The low quality products (even if they are sale items). I have worn Lululemons for a few years and never had this problem before. Unprofessional, rude and untrained staff members who have no idea what customer service is which is a major turnoff.
If you are looking to purchase Alo from this TRX branch. Think twice. Will update the name of the salesperson when I...
Read moreI’ve always associated Alo with a premium experience, so I was quite surprised by my recent visit to the TRX store.
There were no staff on the retail floor—all seemed occupied at the cashier during what was a relatively quiet period, which felt odd, so I was left to browse on my own. I also noticed some trash left unattended in the headwear section, right in front of the counter, which felt a bit careless for a brand like Alo.
When it came time to pay, the product scanned at a higher price than what was on the tag. I flagged this to the cashier, and was told, “Yeah, the price increased in the system. Which price do you want to pay?”—which I found confusing. I expected the tagged price to be honoured without question. It took more than five minutes to complete the purchase of 1 item, i could sense frustrations from customers queuing behind me. The whole process felt untrained and inefficient.
Lastly, the overall visual merchandising felt underwhelming. It gave more of a fast fashion vibe, which didn’t quite match the premium pricing or the brand image I’ve come to...
Read moreI had the worst experience at this Alo TRX. The staff there, and when I said the staff there, it was almost everyone. They was incredibly super rude and very unhelpful, making me feel like I was a burden for even asking simple questions or even asking the new collection from the Alo’s website.
Their attitude was dismissive, and they seemed more interested in chatting with each other than assisting customers. One of them was even gossiping about the customer which totally unethical of them.
For a store with such high prices, I expected at least decent customer service. Instead, I left feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer. I won’t be coming back and would not recommend this place to anyone. I would recommend you to shop on website since all the items are available in the website.
Update : Visited again to get a new collection and they were clueless about the product. How would you not know the product? Very rude and...
