Since you don't have 2 star I rate you a two ba. Heard is one of the best here in Melaka which has served UNESCO and we were dying to try as we come from Klang Valley. Here goes our story, as a passionate group of youth coming to explore our homeland and more so Melaka, a place of good food and long queue. We did search up on the restaurants and places that we so willing to know about as we are part time students and workers, we really wanted the best for our trip. So we called Amy's for a reservation for 5 at the dinner session at 6pm. Due to the unexpected queue for Melaka's stalls and as youth with no experience and all of us are first timers. We might figure we would be late to Amy Heritage Nyonya Cuisine. So we called at around 4.45pm to try postponing or cancel if we cant postpone the reservation. We call three times through the contact number at different time. But no one answered and with the road from Klebang to your restaurant has only one route and tons of traffic light and cars. We decided to do our best to reach on time. But unfortunately as expected we reach late. We enter the restaurant and ask the boss whether is our table still available for us? Well as seen from other reviews. The boss is quite egoistic. We that instant got a very harsh tone reply from him saying that he is "sorry that your table is open for other customers and is now booked." Which we know that he wont be sorry when speaking a harsh tone towards the customers in front of other customers. Though we still see our reserve tag on one of the table and there are roughly 9 more tables free of people. He even advice us to be punctual next time, without knowing that we tried our best. We got scolded for what we try to ammend earlier which were even disgrace by your service that is proven to be astounding. We are not an hour late which would be expected for a dinner for a table. In this case his egoism has got a better of the boss. So we as understanding youth that pity the old man and did not plan to lose to our ego. We decided to eat elsewhere. Since Melaka has a lot of good food. We just find other good food. In the end we had good foods. We were happy with our trip. We are writing this review hoping you can have more potential than you can be by droping your ego and change your attitude so more people in today's Malaysian society can savour your delicious food. Although we know is hard but is not impossible. The boss life will be much happier and have better vitality if he can be more respectful to everyone including Amy and the business. Men with strong ego is very hard to change, so eveyone has to please him, this inturn only he is happy and people beside him have to feel bad if they did mistakes. Is not the brightest way to make the world a better place. Gambateh uncle! You can do it! Dont dissapoint...

From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with warm smiles and a cozy ambiance that immediately set the stage for an incredible dining experience.
Our taste buds were treated to a feast of traditional Nyonya dishes that showcased the rich heritage and vibrant flavors of Peranakan cuisine. Let me begin by raving about the Ayam Ponteh—tender chicken pieces braised to perfection in a flavorful soy-based sauce. The dish was a delightful balance of sweet and savory, with each bite showcasing the expertise of the chef.
Next up, we indulged in the Kueh Pie Tee, a traditional Nyonya snack that stole our hearts. The crispy golden shells were filled with a medley of finely chopped vegetables and topped with a fragrant and slightly spicy sauce. It was a burst of textures and flavors that left us craving for more.
The Tofu with Thai Sauce was another standout dish that demonstrated the restaurant's ability to infuse flavors from different culinary traditions. The tofu cubes were beautifully cooked, showcasing a crispy exterior and a silky interior. The Thai sauce added a tangy and slightly spicy kick that elevated the dish to new heights.
One of the highlights of our meal was the Udang Lemak Nenas—a prawn curry cooked in a rich coconut milk and pineapple gravy. The prawns were fresh and succulent, and the combination of coconut milk and pineapple created a delightful balance of creamy and tangy flavors. It was a true representation of Nyonya cuisine at its finest.
Beyond the exceptional food, the service at Amy Heritage Nyonya Cuisine was impeccable. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and eager to offer recommendations based on our preferences. They made us feel like honored guests, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Read moreRemembered having a meal at Amy Heritage Nonya Cuisine in Malacca some years ago, so when we drove pass that restaurant yesterday afternoon, we told ourselves we must make another visit (remembered it was good but somewhat forgotten the taste of dishes we ate).
So this morning I sent a short message to the restaurant reservation number to make a reservation for lunch. Within 5 minutes, Oliver (son of Amy) replied to accept my booking. Great!
Wifey and I arrived the restaurant just before 1pm. The external was a little run down (as should be since they had been operating for many years), the furnitures were old but everything was neat and tidy. Same old restaurant we knew. Oliver greeted us and led us to our table.
Placed our orders quickly: Ikan Gerang Asam Udang Lemak Nenas Kangkung Belacan White Rice
It was a pretty long wait for our orders to be ready. We kept ourselves occupied by browsing their accolades and watching activities within the restaurant.
Oliver and the other serving staff were busy serving, meticulously clearing and cleaning used tables. Hmm…very hygienic.
Our orders started to stream out after half an hour. Oliver apologized for the slow delivery of food.
The Udang Lemak Nenas was uniquely wonderful. The gravy was so lemak yet not overpowering, in fact very appetizing. Six good size prawns with eight pieces of pineapple cubes in the rich but light gravy which I added to my rice “like soup”. I was literally spooning the gravy to drink.
The Ikan Gerang was sourish and delicious. I normally don’t like sour food but this dish was so delicious. Three good slices of “steak cut” snapper fish (Ang Go Li) was used and it was so fresh!
The Kangkung Belacan was just satisfactory (we later found out from Amy herself that her assistant cook probably didn’t follow her recipe strictly).
Must say that our long wait for food was well worth it. Food served were authentically Nonya.
Amy was very nice, she came out later to speak to diners and we had a long conversation with her. This 82 year old chef had kept herself well and very willing to share her recipes.
We enjoyed our simple meal thoroughly and will surely patronize again whenever...
