We visited during Ramadan, and I would prefer not to create a scapegoat, but it felt like the restaurant wasn't trying to impress. The menus were falling apart and there was very little in the glass case.
We were greeted at the counter by a nice hostess, and we ordered Ebi Ramen, gyoza, and Unagi Don. We also ordered 4x sushi types, tamago, ebi tempura, unagi, and Inari. We also ordered 3x glasses of lemonade.
The kitchen was fast. We were the only customers there. The main dishes were good, Unagi Don was done well. The rice was fresh and the partially boiled egg was just right. The gyoza was gone faster than a blink of an eye. And the Ebi Ramen was also delicious.
But the sushi...it was okay. The unagi tasted like it had been frozen and thawed. The fried shrimp was the same. The tamago and Inari were both pretty good and better than the other two. The rice was good all around.
Drinks were super sweet and the drink itself was warm when it was served. You had to let the ice in the drink melt, and you needed to stir it around before the liquid was all cold. There was so much sugar that there was residual grains of sugar at the bottom of the glass.
Highly recommend they cut the sweetness in half for the lemonade, and work on finding fresher unagi and shrimp for the sushi.
Overall, there were items that were well worth it, but the sushi could have...
Read moreOne of the few sushi restaurants in Cameron Highlands and it turns out to be a huge disappointment. The salmon slices on my aburi sushi were so tiny that it can barely cover the rice. I can barely feel that there was salmon on the sushi when I put it into my mouth. It almost feels like I'm eating plain rice. The salmon roll looks just as bad as it taste. Lastly, the rice of its Don is overcooked and it tasted exactly like plain rice instead of sushi rice. I'm sure I can do a better job with my rice cooker at home.
Reply to owner: You can deny all you want but these are the items I bought from your shop. I'm not sure if you're pretending to be innocent or you really don't even know what's on your menu. FYI, please check your menu roughly 6 months ago (before you start questioning, please check a place on Google map called Susan, it was your 'original' place on Google before you make a new one & my original review was there as well as other 'poor' reviews). As for your salmon, fresh salmon directly imported from Norway doesn't mean you can have the best texture and taste as there are more to it. Photo doesn't lie, you can look at the size of the salmon on the sushi, simply pathetic. I hoped you could improve in 6 months time but so far based on your attitude, I...
Read moreI came here with my cousins for lunch and we ordered the hotpot (one of it was Tomyam, the other I can't remember the name but it was soy-sauce based, could be Sukiyaki but I'm not too sure!). The soup was not so tasty but I think we expected more considering it was RM78++ for the set we've ordered. Along with the hotpot, we ordered the Cheezy Salmon Teriyaki Roll which was pretty good. Something a different than usual sushi places. The portion for the hotpot was good, but the staff could be more careful with the ingredients as we noticed some of it was still dirty (e.g. the enoki mushroom still had dirt, so we actually washed it ourselves by the sink). The day that we ate at, there were three members of female staff and all three were talking very, very loudly until the whole shop can hear. I get that we were the only customers, and it was a slow weekday afternoon but it just felt unprofessional and like there was no one in the restaurant. Overall, the food is so-so for being on the pricy end, and the staff treatment is terrible. Wouldn't revisit for a...
