I truly do not understand why this place is so highly rated. My closest guess is that the food here is cheap/lower priced than most places in the area. We ordered a regular scone and a strawberry scone. Definitely not worth getting the strawberry version. You are better off getting the regular and having it with the jam provided. That said, the regular is also not something to be had anyway. While priced reasonably, it was a very solid, dry and stiff scone. It also didn't come with a lot of whipped cream, jam or butter. We ran out before finishing the scones. If you know what the standard is for a good scone, you'll know that this is not a place to give any money to. I suspect that those who raved about the scones here has yet to taste a well made one. The chicken pie was no better. The filling wasn't much, it was dry, under seasoned. A solid no from me. The hash brown... It's...creative, i guess (?) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . But I'm not sure what they were going for because the flavours were random (and doesn't quite go well with each other) and there was no crisp on the surfaces (and so it was just soft all around). Also a solid no from me. If you still want to visit this place, do call and make reservations ahead of time. Perhaps a day ahead. We arrived at brunch hours and the queue was out the door. We were allowed to put our contacts down for them to call us when a table was available to accommodate us. At that point of time, the estimated wait time was about an hour but we were called in about 30-40 minutes. Though, I'm speculating that this is due to the group that arrived before us removed themselves from the waitlist. Also take note that this shop is upstairs. If you can't climb stairs or can't climb much, perhaps skip this place.

A cute, cozy cafe in Tanah Rata, Cameron Highland with a homey vibe. The scones are cheap, though a bit dry and not the best. But the atmosphere is amazing—super cozy!

I’m giving a 5 star overall cuz I’m a sucker for homely, humble, and simple local experiences. This place is like a localised, humanised, de-obnoxious-ised British tea house, with ratan chairs and a PA system for service. Funnily old school, but charming and effective in what they do. Best adjust your expectations when you see their pricing! Definitely don’t expect upscale or heavily modern foods, but a homegrown business content with doing their own thing! I put their food as 3 star just cause they don’t really aim to do a lot, yet some of their specialties are definitely worth shouting about. Their savoury items might not be everyone’s taste; their ‘hashbrown’ is more an old-school hash, so don’t expect a McDonalds style frozen food deep-fried item, and their chicken pie has Asian flavourings which was pleasantly unexpected. BUT, their scones were probably the best we had during our trip but at fraction of the price of what you get further in to touristy territory in Camerons. Soft, buttery, but holding form without being too craggily or dense. The lemon cheesecake beats out so many more expensive bakeries I can think of in KL. You really can’t beat homemade sometimes! You can skip the drinks, but they’re fine to warm the belly in accompaniment to the food if you really want it. I’d definitely make this a stop on the way in and out of Cameron for a cheap hearty meal.

I survey from xhs and also google to read through the reviews .After visit this cafe I truly do not understand why this place is so highly rated. My closest guess is that the food here is cheap/lower priced than most places in the area.

A regular scone, apple pie and chicken pie ordered .While priced reasonably, it was a very solid, outer dry but not crispy and stiff scone(no butter taste at all). It also didn't come with a lot of whipped cream, jam or butter.(but strawberry jam taste good)

The chicken pie was no better. The filling wasn't much, it was dry, under seasoned. I can say not nice at all .

Please do call and make reservations early if you want to visit (especially more than 6ppl)I arrived without queue (brunch hours) but after 30min the queue was out the door.(the kakak said full house and blocked the entry )

Also take note that this shop is upstairs. If you can't climb stairs or can't climb much, perhaps skip this place.(old ppl not suitable)

Overall is a cozy place, home feeling, peaceful, old school (if just want to drink tea chit chat only ,tired already wanna get a seat ,ok this is a nice place)

*BUT *if purposely come here to try the scones (you’re gonna to be disappointed) not enough butter +old ppl like it because light taste and not too sweet and just like dry soft bun) (not hard or crispy) But it’s cheap 3/5 ⭐️ I gave (my mum give no stars at all )

Apple pie disgusting better don’t order (you try you will know) 0/5 ⭐️

Chicken pie also same not nice Haizz 1/5 ⭐️

Better try chinese style dessert (man kou xiang kopitiam )curry puff (it’s was so so so crispy After try you will know.(I’m just tourist)

I’m not haters but this is all truly from my heart what I had tried on this cafe .I gave reviews truly from my heart .I hope that one day you visit to cameron doesn’t waste time and go to a...

My first time here so I can’t compare quality with previous years. Super affordable (RM3.20/pc) scones but if you’re particular about taste, these aren’t the best

They were kinda undercooked and you can smell and taste that raw flour/baking soda taste. I’d prefer it to be baked a little longer. They were quite pale and the inside was soft and a bit wet (but not soggy or sticky). The crust has little to no crunch if you like the crunchy crust type of scone (which I do)

The homemade jam was quite good though

The place is run-down and old but some might find it cozy and charming and wholesome in that old school church/your grandma’s house in the 80s type of way. Lots of trinkets and old yellowed Christian books and polite handwritten signages around. Overall clean place but the toilet area is a bit dirty/old but not that bad, flush worked perfectly and there was tissue

Service is self-service. They call your table number on a speaker which I find amusing. However the lady at the counter sounded quite condescending and impatient when I paid and also ordered some scones for takeaway. I was taking out cash from my wallet and she kept tapping her nails loudly on the table while waiting for me (I didn’t even take long) which turned me off.l

Tldr: Super affordable scones, not the best tasting. A bit undercooked, raw flour taste, not the crunchy biscuity type. Nice jam. Run-down cozy place. Self-service. Counter lady needs to improve on manners. Overall okay for the price, just wish they’d bake...
