Far from their first shop located in Taman Tun Dr Ismail many years ago, Dotty's has bloomed with several branches, and this one is the latest.
Located strategically near the main South entrance on Ground Floor, it shares the facade with other well-known establishments like Starbucks and Ombak.
The staff was friendly, and the service was prompt. There weren't many guests, and many were families with kids. I ordered Avocado chicken sandwich, buttermilk chicken burger, mushroom soup, and ice coffee latte.
First to arrive was the ice coffee latte. The server was surprised that I refused the sugar syrup, stating several times that it was for the iced coffee. Good espresso doesn't need sugar, and the espresso is already sweet by it. This establishment has good coffee. Not great coffee but decently good.
Next to arrive was the avocado chicken sandwich with fries. Fries were thin and cold. Not even warm. A tell-tale sign of what is more to come. The avocado chicken sandwich was good. Sandwiched between thick white loaf of homemade bread, liberally buttered with chunks of white chicken meat and avocado. The portion was huge and had sweet and tangy flavour to it. Except for the fries.
Next was the mushroom soup served in a bowl made of bread. Aka bread bowl. The soup was thin, runny but creamy, stating there's too much cream and not enough mushroom. No wonder it's a hit among the kids.
Now, the buttermilk chicken burger was another story. It came nice and thick. The thickest piece of chicken I've ever had supposedly dipped in buttermilk and deep fried sandwiched between homemade burger buns. It was the toughest chicken I've ever tasted in my life. What was supposed to be juicy and flavorful turned out tough and rubbery. It immediately made me think that the chicken was undercooked, and when I cut the burger in half the meat, it was slightly pink in colour. I sent the dish back but was immediately brought back out, saying the chicken is fully cooked. Then the chef came out and told me, "It's like that. Nothing is wrong. It may be overcooked but definitely not undercooked.
Not wanting to waste food, I slowly finished the biggest one-piece overcooked chicken breast I've ever eaten.
The fries that come with the burger were cold as well. Luckily, I am still okay to write this review 😅
Now, food prices here are premium, but unfortunately, it doesn't taste that way. Compared to other similar establishments in Town, this place is lacking in freshness and flavour. Service was good, and I believe their pastries, bread, and cronuts are still a hit, but having tasted the buttermilk chicken burger like it was refried fried chicken breast and being told that rubbery tough chicken is supposed to taste like that, well...
Edit: After posting this I read the reviews and it’s consistent with what I posted which means they have no intention to improve. They have the audacity to tell me that my under/over not fresh chicken ‘is like that’ which tells me, they serve substandard food. I repeatedly asked “its standard that the chicken is like rubber? and the reply was ‘yes’....

Read moreThis place is officially open on 5th October 2020, and I was the second customer 😁 Previously, I had to go to KLCC to enjoy their famous Salted Egg Yolk Cronut but now it's getting nearer!
Dotty's was also the first ever restaurant that I discovered Biscoff flavour where they sell as Speeculous Cheesecake. Dotty's is a bit pricey restaurant where sandwich is sold at RM20+ but I couldn't complaint for the amazing Aglio Olio Smoked Duck. Loved it!!!
Please try their Chocolate Cookies Cheesecake, it's marvellous. Due to Covid-19, there is no physical menu book given (they had it before at KLCC) but now you will be given a receipt containing QR code where you have to browse through the menu and place order through the web directly. Less interaction with the waiters 😁
But that's not a complaint, because they put up pictures with the menu respectively, which were not available on the physical menu book. However, for pastries, cakes and desserts, you have to order manually at the pastries counter and mention your table number. This is similar at other branches as well, so that's fine.
I find it a bit odd because the pastries counter is quite high where it is quite difficult to tell the staffs there what we want to order and also they might not notice you as well because of the placement of the counter was quite high than normal....
As for payment, currently cash and card are accepted. No e-wallet payment yet but they said that they will try to have it by 1-2 months.
Overall, I love Dotty's especially their Salted Egg Yolk Croissant Doughnut although they tend to...
