Tl;dr A new outlet of the great Ramen Seirock-Ya from PJ located in Phase 2 of IOI City Mall. They serve amazingly rich bowls of chicken-based ramen with the option to spike it with seafood broth. The result is an immensely satisfying, authentic meal that'll make you wanna nap immediately after. Halal certified for those who are particular. Expect to pay around 30-50 per person.
The star of the show is the extreme series ramen. I had the Toripaitan extreme special in large. I quote the menu, which states that "This Is our signature dish. It consists of Umami of chicken from Toripaitan broth. Umami of vegetables and seafoods from flavoring oil. It's a masterpiece from chicken master SEIROCK-YA. That's a big sell and i, of course, was skeptical. However I was pleasantly surprised. A rich, deep, and complex broth that is dynamic based on the amount of lemon squeezed. Wow. It's richness is akin to a tonkotsu broth - a rarity considering that it is chicken based. It's a broth that stains your lips with aroma. You may choose between thick and thin noodles. I went for the former as I love thick al dente noodles. Although no option for noodle doneness was provided, they were spot on for my usually firm preference at other ramen spots. The chicken chashu was really tender and generous. Well executed. The aji tamago was alright. Could have done with a longer marinade. All the other garnishes and toppings such as the bean sprouts were good apart from the chicken meatball. Zero bounciness and kind of just fell apart with no discernible taste. Japanese 'sambal' was nice. When added to the broth with a squeeze of lemon, it really cuts the richness and cleanses the tongue. Amazing. 4.5/5. A great bowl of ramen with a minimal faults from being a perfect bowl for me.
Karaage, Gyoza, and Croquettes: Overall poor. Gyoza was barely acceptable due to a decent crust. The others were very salty and lacked any kind of good flavour or texture. All three were clearly frozen and that's fine. Just hope that perhaps good defrosting measures are done so texture is improved. Would love to see a handmade Gyoza option in the future even at a premium price point. 2/5.
Drinks: Just your average. 3/5
Service: Quick and efficient. A bit stiff but it's likely due to being newly trained as it is a new outlet. No problem with that. Staff are warm. Ordering is done thru a QR scan that works nicely.
Would recommend anyone looking for a great bowl of halal ramen and does not want to make the effort to queue/travel to PJ or KL for their main branch or for Maruki Ramen (my previous favourite. until now!)
Just fix the sides and this review would...

Seirock-Ya Ramen, renowned for its chicken-based ramen offerings, delivers a memorable dining experience for ramen enthusiasts seeking a unique twist. During my recent visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the outstanding quality of their broth, which truly set this establishment apart.
Seirock-Ya Ramen offers a refreshing departure from the traditional pork-based ramen commonly found. Although they focus solely on chicken, their broth is nothing short of extraordinary. The thick and creamy consistency takes the ramen experience to the next level. Whether you opt for the spicy version or the milder plain version with various meat options, the rich flavors of the broth remain the highlight.
For those who appreciate a spicy kick, the spicy version of their broth is a must-try. The blend of spices adds an extra layer of excitement, tantalizing the taste buds with every slurp. However, even the plain version with different meat options offers a delightful experience, allowing the broth's depth and complexity to shine through.
To complement the ramen, I highly recommend indulging in their fried gyoza. These delectable dumplings are a treat for the senses. The perfectly crispy exterior gives way to a juicy and flavorful filling that leaves you craving for more. The gyoza's tastiness and savory nature make it an ideal accompaniment to the ramen.
Overall, Seirock-Ya Ramen impresses with its commitment to delivering exceptional ramen meals. The experience at their IOI branch is on par with their renowned uptown PJ branch, maintaining the high standards they are known for. The dedication to crafting a unique chicken-based broth and the attention to detail in their menu offerings are commendable.
As a word of advice, I recommend enjoying the ramen while the broth is hot. This allows you to fully appreciate the richness and depth of flavors, as well as the smooth texture of the broth. The warmth and comfort derived from each spoonful are truly satisfying.
In conclusion, Seirock-Ya Ramen is a haven for ramen lovers seeking a departure from the conventional pork-based options. Their chicken-based broth is a revelation, showcasing its remarkable thickness and creaminess. The fried gyoza is a delightful side dish that further enhances the dining experience. Whether you visit their IOI branch or their uptown PJ branch, you can expect good meals and consistent quality. Keep up the good work,...

I had tsukemen because I wanted to have an eating style that's akin to soba noodles and I LOVE that they had a free option to add extra noodles for FREE! I also appreciate the option of choosing between different thick or thin noodles! The chicken is absolutely tender, the eggs are well seasoned and boiled to a perfect jammy texture, and the broth is extremely flavourful. It is a bit of an oily experience with a tad too much salt but that's just part of the experience and you can water it down with the dashi broth they provided! The croquette is also delectable! I wish I ordered more but I already had too much food on hand. The green tea is a bit of an afterthought but it does its job as a way to water things down after all the intense flavour bombs!
I love how nice and friendly all the staffs are and they were very helpful and patient when providing service! They even offered me a small basket to put my bags in! There are also table buttons if you need additional assistance for anything. They definitely make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in!
The music choice on the speakers definitely add to the atmosphere of going to a hole-in-the-wall ramen shop ranging from traditional Japanese music, to a hip-hop/trap remix of traditional Japanese music, some J-Pop songs, etc and I like it!
And lastly, I love how strong the air conditioning was in the restaurant! I might've sat directly under the AC vent but I like it either way!
It's on the pricier side depending on what you're ordering (my meal was around RM42 total for a special tsukemen, a croquette, and ice green tea), but it's delicious food, with a pretty hefty serving size, good service and atmosphere, and overall a nice restaurant experience. I would recommend this restaurant and I would come again next time I have a craving for...
