The Barn - IOI City Mall — Restaurant in Sepang

Friday evenings are always Happy Hour Time or Chillax with Friends.

Within less than a week, this is my 2nd visit to The Barn. 1st visit was The Barn Sunway Pyramid.

This outlet was a huge let down in terms of service and quality of drinks.

Had to wave and wave for 15 minutes, still nobody came to take the order. We just ordered beer and other drinks. Took another 25 minutes to arrive.

When the drinks arrived, I requested for serviettes, which the guy doesn't understand, so I repeated tissue, which he just walked off and no tissue in sight even after we left.

When the Edelweiss was served, I immediately ordered another one mug so that by the time I'm done, probably it will arrive in another 15 minutes. Guess what? Out of stock 😕

So I ordered Heineken which was not fresh nor cold.

Then... Had to wait for another 25 minutes but still, no bill came to our table. I had to get inside the outlet to look for our bill, which took another 15 minutes to arrive.

Don't even bother to collect points cos the guy was figuring out how to on the terminal 😤

This is the 1st time, being in a Drinking Place for more than 2 hours, I only had 2 mugs.. mugs!!! Not pint!!!

Will not bother to return to this outlet anymore 😞 So obvious that they don't have...

We used to like this place a lot, celebrated birthdays here before, but I‘m not sure if it was just a bad day or the service / food has just really deteriorated over time. The flaming pork ribs that we ordered took very long to serve, it was supposed to “flame“ but it didn‘t and server just blamed the ceiling fan and didn‘t do anything about it (could‘ve done it on the other side / turned off the fan, but no, no effort at all), and finally when we took a bite, only the surface was warm and inside was cold (like it came straight from the fridge)! Seems the defrosting process was incomplete? Of course we couldn‘t eat it and returned it but it also meant another waiting time (and we were with toddlers with low patience and attention span). Then when it came back some parts have already burned but we just took it as it was already edible and we were already rushing. In the end it’s just not the experience I expected from The Barn. I miss the old servers there who always...

IOI's The Barn... Good ambience, great food. We had Flaming Baby Back Ribs, one of its signature dish, which was slow cooked with a generous mix of Brandy and served with barbeque sauce. The Roast Pork fried rice, served with a side of pork satay was generous in portion. The sambal that came with the dish would hit home with nasi lemak lovers. Our party also had bangers and mash, also an obscene portion. The Barn has an interesting variety of beer, including wietbier, as well as a selection of wine and liquor mix (cocktail). With burgers and pizza also on thr menu, the place can cater for various taste pallette and occasion for the party. Do give it a try if you're up for good food with good time among friends and...
