Hotpot Kitchen @ Sunway Pyramid — Restaurant in Subang Jaya

Good atmosphere at good location of the mall. Unfortunately, the dry hotpot here isn’t great at all👎👎. It’s too bland, just plain spicy and lack of good flavor (i don’t know why they wana add cumin flavor into it cos it’s actually meant for chinese bbq but they added this into dry hotpot which made it really weird). Nevertheless, the mala soup actually tastes really good 👍(but you get the same flavour from Master Kang instant noodles🤣) .

Another thing that put me off is the so-called member price. It’s free to join then you get discount, but why bother to require that when you already allow everyone join for free. Wasting time and just finding excuse to charge more. Price actually is quite reasonable though. But overall i won’t go back to this brand outlets again. 😅

Finally reminder, when you select the pork or beef, it is usually rolled up so it’s easy to clip, MAKE SURE you tell the counter that you don’t want it to be cut into smaller pieces, my pork belly roll mysteriously ended up as 2 small pieces only 😹. After reading the review at the bottom and compare to my attempt, why I was differently served? Does it because I seem like poor and sharing with my friends and collecting points and ask a lot of questions for redeeming the member item? This is such a bad idea to do it to the member since I’m greatly love to have meal in hotpot kitchen.

1- compete to midvalley mall, the staff will even ask for the spicy level and Sunway don’t even, then it cause I was too spicy to eat the meals.

2- while to redeem the item, the staff don’t even teach how to click step by steps and showing face of ignoring to me! This is quite ignore but since I was redeeming, that’s fine as no point to argue as I was (bad at smartphones). Especially the full black shirt guys serving in front of the cashier, even the worker there serve more well than him.

3- the space over there in the space arrangement seems too tight compared to other branches, other branches won’t feel tighter space, Sunway branches feels tight and people seems like gonna bump on the tables. (Inside...

The food is good. But if Sunway is your nearest location, you're better off going to another location, because the Sunway service is rubbish. I ordered food on FoodPanda as pick up. This is during MCO 3.0 where restraunts are open for delivery/pick up only. I had trouble finding the place, and called for assistance. Firstly, the address on Google Map is WRONG, not UPDATED and UNHELPFUL. The staff member I spoke to gave me POOR instructions; I ended up walking in Sunway Pyramid, which was HALF DARK, for 30 FULL MINUTES. Finally, I asked a staff member to please meet me at THEIR SUPPOSED DRIVE THRU POINT. No one was there, and when I finally figured out the location there were 2 girls ON THEIR PHONES. Bear in mind during this time, food places are only open for pickup/delivery and there were 2 staff members, who could have helped a client facing difficulty in finding their place.
