Rakuzen in Subway Pyramid had been operating for many years, therefore noticeable tear of wallpaper ,and can see signs of repaired furniture with cellophane-tape (window seat table near order machine). First of all, sushi is in mini size, even Maki. You can expect half of sushi size from Rakuzen than other Japanese restaurant. We ordered some sushi for sharing and unexpectedly Otoro sushi was replaced with some other type of fish that just doesn’t look like it’s Otoro (at least I haven’t seen fatty tuna belly like that in my entire life).
I mentioned to staff that these are not Otoro, and then after reflecting the issue, sushi chef immediately made me real Otoro sushi. (Attached with photo of what was served and quality after reflecting the issue) If I am a reserved person I wouldn’t have told staff about me judging the quality or authenticity of the sashimi. To me, quality of fish should be uphold regardless of price charged. I hope they don’t make customers feel like they got deceived in this incident.
I hope the management of Rakuzen can look into this issue and improve quality of staff or product to make sure they are in control of the food quality.

Read moreWe arrived the shop at 850pm, the staff told us last call is in 10min which is 910pm. Ok well, we said ok then they ask us to wait for the table to be clean, and it need 10min. Well ok fine, but then we still see clean table already available, but they still told us to wait. We still can accept no matter what reason they give me. But seems like they are not welcoming as the last call is in 10 mins and they still tell us to wait without taking menu for us to see.
Afterthat, we ordered the food and tea, sashimi came first ok. But after like 10 min our tea still not here, sashimi is finished. We ask the waiter for the tea, his like oh so sorry, your tea not here yet?
After our tea is here 10min later our food only came like 930, and one of my friend one hasn't came till 945, we asked the waiter and the waiter forgot her order. Ok then she came and tell us it need 5 more mins, but obviously she looks like she forgot the order. She came back and refil cold green tea for 2 of my friends and did not come back with hot green tea to refil mine and girlfriend tea??? So you don't need to refill whole table tea???
This shop have been my recommended Japanese restaurant, but this service? Hope you...
Read moreUsed to requently visit Zen many years ago, that restaurant has become Sunway s Rakuzen now. Menu is still the same, hence I assume the management is same . This place used to be top notch in food and service. Today the both service and food has fell far below expectation . Went there last weekend, food was so slow. My wife's meal was almost finished before mine arrive 40 minutes after ordering. The tables that came after us had their entire orders fully arrived far before mine. Sure its MCO and all that, but tables and customers are far reduced.
Fried chicken cutlet was overfried, too salty. Salmon slices are no longer thick and generous like back then. The one from the premium RM88 set was soggy and thinly sliced like low quality buffet spread that has been there for an hour. Ika sashimi was stringy and improperly prepared.
Some of the items are still good. Yakitori, tempura was great.
