Worst experience during my two week stay in the Maldives!
Update : FOOD POISONING WARNING! We got diarrhea and vomited from eating this food!
We wanted to try some Chinese food because the variety here is limited to mostly Indian food and western food. After looking over the menu for several minutes, we made our selections.
I wanted to order the sizzling prawn dish, but the waiter suggested against it because he said the dish would not be served on a sizzling plate. It was actually very difficult to understand his English. Instead, he recommended a dish with prawn and morning glory vegetables. The flavor was honestly terrible. The prawn tasted frozen and the vegetables were covered in a sauce that was extremely sweet. I was only able to eat a small portion of it.
My mom ordered the braised chicken, which was also way too sweet and the chicken didn’t taste like chicken at all. It had a very peculiar taste like it was either fake meat or some kind of other animal. My mom couldn’t eat more than a couple bites.
My wife ordered the Thai noodles with seafood. It was quite possibly the spiciest food we’ve ever had. It made my eyes water and my throat cough. She’s Vietnamese and it was even too much for her. Having visited Thailand before, we quickly noticed that the noodles they used were not Thai noodles, they were instead noodles from India. She was only able to eat a few bites of her meal.
We did have one item that we ordered that we were able to eat, the tandoori chicken. It was just ok enough to eat, not very tasty, just edible.
I mentioned to one of the managers that the food was not good and he didn’t seem to care at all! I thought maybe they would remove at least one item from the bill, but no. We got the full bill which was a total of $74, the most expensive bill we had at any restaurant during our 2 week stay.
I asked to speak to the manager. He came to the table and I said, honestly, the meal was not good and I would like him to remove the items we didn’t like from the bill. He took the bill and came back 10 minutes later and only removed 10% from the bill, which was actually the amount they automatically added for a the service fee.
This was one of the most absolute worst experiences I’ve ever had in any restaurant in my life. I would highly recommend against going here for any...
Read morethis one is a usual place (male' one included) which i used to eat. the taste of dragon rice has dipped in quality. the hot butter chicken and squid rings used to have proper sauce but it's not there anymore. it used to be great, but now its okay in my opinion.
they need to invest in better ventilation here. when the chef cooks, they either don't have an exhaust or the one they have is broken cause of bad ventilation, everyone starts coughing from all the tables. and the AC can't generate enough cold when the place is full. so with ongoing cooking and busted AC that needs repairs, pretty sweaty experience.
so if your sinus triggers from such things, avoid this place. i would go here like if there is no option, nothing like the old craving of dragon rice. quality consistency is...
Read moreService was very slow, and by that I mean they really like to take their sweet time to make us wait for the food. And food was very bad, here are what we ordered: Dim sum platter; overall taste is so so, nothing special about it to be honest Crab foo yung hai; they didn't serve any sauce with it and it was almost tasteless. Cuttlefish and black beans sauce; I don't see any black beans in the sauce whatsoever, neither in the taste because all I could taste was the ginger as it was overpowering any other flavor in the dish.
And they charged us so much for these low quality food
The only good thing about them is that they serve big...
