I recently had the pleasure of dining at a delightful pizzeria in Malta, and I must say, it was the best pizza experience I have ever had. From the moment I walked in, I was enveloped in the warm and inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. The rustic decor, combined with the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked pizza, immediately set the stage for a memorable meal. The star of the evening, without a doubt, was Pietro, our server. His enthusiasm and passion for the food were evident in every interaction. Pietro's recommendations were spot on, guiding us through the menu with a deep knowledge of each dish's unique flavors and ingredients. His attention to detail and genuine care for our dining experience made us feel like cherished guests. Now, let's talk about the pizza. The crust was a perfect balance of crispy and chewy, with just the right amount of char from the wood-fired oven. The toppings were fresh and abundant, each bite bursting with flavor. Whether it was the classic Margherita with its vibrant tomato sauce and creamy mozzarella or the adventurous Prosciutto e Funghi, each pizza was a testament to the culinary expertise of the pizzeria. What truly set this place apart was the authenticity and quality of the ingredients. You could taste the care and dedication that went into each pizza, making it a culinary masterpiece. The combination of traditional Italian techniques with a Maltese twist resulted in a pizza that was both familiar and uniquely exciting. Pietro's exceptional service only elevated the experience. He anticipated our needs, offered insightful suggestions, and ensured that every aspect of our meal was perfect. His friendly demeanor and impeccable service made us feel welcome and valued, adding a personal touch that is often hard to find. In conclusion, this Maltese pizza place exceeded all my expectations. The superb quality of the pizza, coupled with Pietro's outstanding service, made it an unforgettable dining experience. If you find yourself in Malta, this pizzeria is an absolute must-visit for anyone who appreciates exceptional food and top-notch hospitality.

The pizza looked way bigger in some of the photos present in other reviews. I included a photo of mine with a coke on the side for scale ( no bananas were available :( ). The pizza itself was quite good, although it is NOT the best pizza I had in Malta. For that you can check out my other review of "Al Solito posto" in Silema. The real kicker of the place though was the desert. My girlfriend had the tiramisù while I had the Panna cotta with raspberries. Both were absolutely delicious, and I'd come back only for those. Please note that there's no air conditioning inside, so we were sweating quite a bit considering we're in the middle of summer. The service provided was excellent. You can really tell the girl was very enthusiastic and happy to do her job, which is rare to see in other places. Overall this is a great place, so you should definitely try it out. Remember to book in advance though, as the place is always full. They do however have an unreasarvable long table at which you could be seated if you go to the place, so I would try my luck with that. Personally when I tried to reserve I was told the place was fully booked but I went in anyway and got seated at the big table, so give it a try. Again, please try the dessert, it's really great.

Sotto pinsa was strongly recommended from many people so we visited the place. This pizzeria is located underground and it’s always full so make a call ahead and make a reservation in order not to wait outside.. the service is quick and the staff is good. There is a sense to leave the place when you finish your food and drinks because there’s always someone else waiting… but it happens everywhere in Valletta due to the high tourism.. we couldn’t try any desserts because we were full but they looked really delicious.. tried Napoli and carbonara with truffle and there were both so tasty. Would recommend the place for sure. Thank you Giacomo and Pepe for the welcome! *The only negative was that there was more heat than the acceptable for me.. maybe because it’s underground and there are big ovens and not sufficient ventilation…* *The second was that the aperol spritz we took was at the average level but ok.. we go there for the pinsas!* *you cannot visit if you have mobility problems*

I recently stumbled upon this restaurant, which is a bit hidden away underground and easily missed if you're just walking on the street. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pizza - it was really good and great value for money. The presentation of the pizza on wooden boards is a good idea, but the boards themselves are quite old and could use an update. Unfortunately, the wine selection was limited, both in terms of options by the glass and on the wine list as a whole. On the bright side, the interior of the restaurant has a charming Italian authentic feel to it, the italian ambiance music in the background was also nice. The service was fast and the staff were welcoming - I didn't have any complaints in that regard. I enjoyed my experience at the restaurant and would definitely consider visiting again in the future.

I've just found the place ramdomly one day I was walking all over La Valletta and wow, I didn't regret it! I've been here twice out 5 holiday days to have lunch. Both times pinsa! Awesome flavor! One day I had the tono pinsa and a Sprittz. Incredible. The last day I went for a lunch offer Margherita+coke for just 11.90€. And even this simple pinsa was very yummy. Ingredients were local and the tomato sauce was really natural. The place is a really gem and packed with people so you better go early around 12.45-13h! By comparison I went to the restaurant Old Bakery just one block away full of locals. I ordered a Maltese Pizza and even been just OK, it has nothing to do compared to the Sotto.

We stumbled upon Sotto Pinsa Romana during our stay in Valletta and what a lucky find! It was so close to our hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming, but Zeynep truly stood out with her exceptional service. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and made our dining experience even more enjoyable. We ordered the Capricciosa, Parmigiana, and 4 Formaggi pizzas and were blown away by the taste and texture. The crust was perfectly crispy and chewy, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. We've had pizza in many places, but this was something special. To top it off, the homemade Tiramisu was absolutely divine! It was the perfect ending to our meal. Thanks guys. Highly recommend!
