On the corner of Nino Heroes and Zaragoza you will find a small -not so fancy- seafood restaurant. On its palapa roof top, you will see a banner “$25 lobster.” It’s true! Even better, besides the lobster deal, this restaurant offers a variety of delicious speciality seafood dishes.
When in Cabo, El Pescador has been our family and friends’ favorite seafood spot. The lobster and streak deal is a popular order for my family, including ceviches, clams, oysters, fried fish and other shrimp dishes. My personal favorite is the shrimp ceviche, always tasty and delicious.
Servers are a mixture of friendly, welcoming, fun and attentive folks. You will run into Senor Roberto, Rodrigo and Jesus on most days. There are usually two cooks running the kitchen. Home style cooking. You can see them doing what they do best from across the dining area of the restaurant. It’s amazing what they can do in such limited size kitchen. On that note, compliments to the cook as my friend commented on the fried fish he ordered was THE best tasting fish he can remember in a long time. Meaty and fried perfectly. Hands down, the best so far.
Our dining experience has been during lunch and dinner time. We have yet to make it for breakfast. One day, we will.
El Pescador is usually packed, but for some reason, and without making table reservations, there’s always a one available for my family and friends when we visit. Rarely have we waited.
Next time you’re in Cabo, give El Pescador a try. It’s minutes away from the Marina and a few blocks from the...

My wife and I wanted to sample the famous fresh seafood of Cabo. There were many options here and they have something on the menu for everybody. We settled on the El Pescador Combo which had fresh fish fillet, lobster tail, shrimps and scallops. There was also a serving of rice, salad and mashed potato with the dish. All the seafood tasted fantastic and fresh and both of us were impressed. The combo cost 680 pesos (approx 37 USD / 51 CAD) which was very reasonable and both of us were satisfied.
I heard the coconut shrimp was another excellent dish but when we tried to visit a second time to try more dishes even though we arrived with one last hour remaining till closing (according to Google) we were turned away.
Other than that, the gentleman running the restaurant was very nice and definitely give this place a try for reasonable, good...
Read moreWe had eaten at this restaurant before and decided to try it again while back in Cabo. The food was good. I wouldn't say great. Server asked if we liked "hot" salsa and we said yes but brought us salsa that was so hot it was inedible!!! The Lobsters were miniature (2 inches) when we got our bill we were surprised that it was $58 for 3 people. When we questioned it the manager said they added a 16% tax which was almost $10 more to our bill. He also proceeded to call us gringos!!! We will never go back to this restaurant again or recommend it to friends because of the tax and rude service. There are plenty of other restaurants I'm Cabo that include that tax in the price of the food on the menu. Beware of this scam when...
