After a long day we were wanting some Asian food and came across Chino 168, reviews seemed favorable so we decided to roll the dice. Contrary to another review we saw they do NOT have ample parking, they have a small lot in the back, so we had to hunt for parking in the mostly residential neighborhood. We had a very large party (6 adults and 7 kids ages 2 - 14) and while it was clear the restaurant staff wasn't used to setting up for such large parties they were flexible and had us seated without much wait. Our collective Spanish isn't great and the staff was gracious enough to help bridge the language gap, offering us the 4 English menus they had.
Food is standard Americanized Chinese food, no frills, solidly fresh. We ordered some of their "single combos" and be warned...nothing single about them, they're intended for 2 people. VERY generous portions of an entree and fried rice with an egg roll. They allowed us to split the order between 2 different dishes, and they didn't skimp on the fried rice. Prices were very reasonable compared to some of the more eye watering prices around the area, we'll definitely come back if the craving for Asian food hits...

It felt good knowing they had an understanding of veganism, which is uncommon in many places.
I took the food to go and it was very flavourful. It had a taste I usually associate with meat (not bad, just smoky, maybe. Perhaps a specific oil or cooking method?), but it did not bother my stomach at all, and my stomach is SENSITIVE. They don't have many options, but some comforting veggie fried rice or veggie noodles were exactly...
Read moreWe always like to try Chinese restaurants while traveling. We ordered our food and waited, and waited. The 2 people at the table behind us were seated 5 minutes after us. They had eaten their food and were getting ready to leave when my food was brought out. She said my wife's meal was coming. I ordered Kung Pao chicken. I'm pretty sure I got Kung Pao celery!! Tons of celery!! With very little chicken. Make note of this if you like Kung Pao chicken, I'll save you the let down! Order something else. The wife's Chow Mein order was good. The food tasted great and the portions were good. They will charge you for the to-go-container. Squeezing out every nickel I guess! It's definitely worth it if you're craving...
