Traveled here end of November for 2 weeks and this was our main eatery. This is our favorite place to go when we come to Cabo. Most awesome local taco restaurant. One where all the locals come to. You order your dish and go to a buffet of condiments to load up your taco. The crispy fish tacos and the Seafood Hot n Sour soup are to die for. The staff are all friendly. Dishes served pretty quick. The soup takes a lot longer (approx 20-25 mins) as it is made fresh to order, but worth the wait. We had been here many times prior to this visit, so we're ok with the wait. Portions of all dishes are a good size especially when you dress your own dishes from the condiment buffet. You know when your at a good local restaurant when all the locals come there. Lots of locals ordering take out on their way home from work or just in for dinner. The local blended Tamarindo drink is awesome. You either like it or don't, so don't take a star away for that. Atmosphere is welcoming, entertaining (TV screen and dj music) and casual. Fun wall paintings good for photos. Between both of us, we order at least 5 dishes to share and drinks. Our bill has been approx 600 -800 pesos with tip. Prices here are excellent as the locals pay the same amount as tourists. You have the option to sit in the covered outside seated area or inside area that is separated by steps. Inside tends to be cooler with the big fans. Washroom...
Read moreFirst off, there are two Los Claros in Cabo. Our group purposefully chose to go to the downtown location rather than the one closet to the marina - it's a but further (maybe a 15 minute walk?), but we were not disappointed. The first time I came here I got the regular fish tacos. On the second visit I got the crispy fish tacos. My husband got the tacos carne asada and a quesadilla. We also sampled the guacamole (sooooo good!) and several drinks. Personally, I liked the crispy fish taco best, but everything was delicious. I loved that they had a toppings bar for the tacos, so you could try all the tacos with different flavors. Best fish tacos I've ever had. Of the drinks, we tried the Jamaica, Jalapeno, Pina, and Cadillac margaritas, as well as the Poloma. I did ask what was the difference between the Jamaica and Fresca margaritas as both the English bylines stated strawberry. But the Jamaica was actually a hibiscus flower flavor and it was absolutely fantastic. The Poloma was probably my second favorite drink.
Overall, well...
Read moreLast time we came to Cabo San Lucas, we had tacos at this place and they were awesome. We talked about them for a year, and when we came back, they were gone!! Apparently, rent on the Main Street was too expensive, so they moved. It took a while to find them again, and boy was it worth it!
Selection of seafood tacos was amazing. Marlin tacos are to die for. Crispy shrimp and crispy fish are spectacular. They serve the tacos as meat and tortilla only - they have a large toppings bar on the side. Toppings are great too - cabbage, different “slaws” as the best description, habanero based salsas, jalapeño based salsas, pico de Gallo, fresh lime - you name it! Best of everything - battered and deep fried peppers - super yummy!!
I had super tasty horchata with refills - very needed with the spicy toppings. Prices are not bad either - 25 to 35 pesos per taco, but well worth it. We went there twice, and I feel bad for not having time to go at least a few more times.
Strongly recommended! Don’t leave Cabo without...
