We just returned to Chicago from a one month stay In Puerto Vallarta - We are huge foodies - We had been to Daquiri Dickâs In the past, and we have to say the restaurant was better than ever in the past - we went for lunch one day and sat out on the patio- The view of the beach is breathtaking with huge, beautiful waves rolling inâ¤ď¸ the first time we ordered the Asian chicken salad, which is now our favorite item on the menu -fresh Asian cabbage, snow peas, rice enoodles And lightly grilled chicken breast with a Sesame ginger dressing - It is probably the most delicious salad weâve ever .had and it is our new addiction every time we dine there . We also love the tuna.tartar Tower with mango, avocado, wonton chips, and a ginger soy sesame dressing .-very refreshing on a hot day-and a must have are the grilled corn ribs - the cobb is Sliced into four long pieces and they are grilled and coated with a lime and mayo chili sauce, And covered in queso fresco!!! We have not had anything like this anywhere in the world and now it is our other addiction every time we go.đ One night for dinner I did have the chicken piccata I was craving â Absolutely delicious with A lemon butter, taper sauce, and delicious scalloped potatoes on the side! I have to also add that Marco the manager is one of the hardest working people we have ever met and he wants to make sure everything is perfect when you are there. We even spent our last day on the beach chairs that you can rent for the day by just just ordering some food & And drinks- Which was no problem for us because we needed our last fix of all our favorite things. We have come to love when we eat there. We cannot wait to go back next year and dine there again several times as we did this time.! Our waiters were super friendly & took such good care of us -Marco feels like a friend now - we are missing his smile And his ability to make us perfectly happy when we walk out the door. And I need to mention that the cocktails are also deliscious - - I like daiquiris a lot , And I was also surprised to see Aperol Spritz on their menu - i am Italian And they tasted just like the ones in Italy, absolutely delicious! The hostess is such a sweetheart as well and very professional. Canât wait till next February to dine at Daquiri Dickâs â¤ď¸ Please dine there you will not be disappointedđ Linda and...
Read moreSuch a fabulous restaurant that we went three times in the week that we were here! Service is outstanding and the food is even better! Beach tables are gorgeous and well separated so you are not on top of the table next to you like at many of the other beachfront restaurants in PV. Seats are comfortable and not cheap plastic like in other beach restaurants. Tables are also nice quality. Torches and beautiful lighting. Just all together a different experience then when you are stacked upon each other at other beach restaurants with loud music blaring. Lovely music each time we went, one time was live music. Never too loud! They make you feel like royalty with their top notch service. But the food! Omg! Hollywood salad is off the charts! Filet mignon was delicious and burger was best burger ever had in my life! The corn chowder is divine! Salmon was also incredible! For dessert the warm skillet chocolate chip cookie with ice cream and caramel sauce is to die for! Key lime pie was scrumptious! We sat on the patio one time and on the beach two times. We have been to many restaurants in PV over the years and each year we return multiple times to this one! The owner/ head chef, Wayne, has impeccable taste and incredibly high standards for his entire staff. And he's the nicest guy, coming over to the table to make sure everything was okay and introduce himself. You can't go wrong at this restaurant! This year we only went for dinner but went three times. In years past we have been here for pretty much every meal and anything we've ever ordered has been delicious! Thank you Wayne, for making our stays in PV that much...
Read moreI ordered the Tamahawk Pork Chop as my main course. When it was presented, it looked very appetizing, however once I cut into it, it was completely raw inside. Not pink, but rather red and not edible.
After 10 minutes the waiter realized that I was waiting for someone to tend to my table. He realized how raw the food was and apologized and returned the food to the kitchen. 30 minutes later I was presented with the same dish, but this time it was burnt to a crisp. When he served it to me, he knew it wasnât acceptable. I tried the food, however it was not edible.
20 minutes later a different server presented themselves and apologized for how the food was burnt. I then changed my order to the Hollywood Salad, which was hardly acceptable. I finished my dinner and after 30 minutes a server removed my plate but never asked how the food was.
When leaving the restaurant I asked to speak to the manager, who was certainly not qualified to properly run a restaurant. When I provided him with my feedback, his answer was that he knew the food wasnât good, but didnât want to disturb me and discuss my experience.
I informed him that I would be writing this review, as a courtesy.
As a resident of PV, this was certainly the worst dining...
