Somehow in my 5 years of living less than 3 blocks away, Sunday was my first visit here! Some have shared they find it overrated or pricey, I did not find either of those things to be the case for me. I very much enjoyed my experience from the warm greeting upon arrival to the beautiful space that embraces the trees they built around as part of the decor & lovely ambiance. Service was excellent & the server was quite charming & a little funny even! When we asked about what seemed like a slightly paired down menu the server shared w/us that w/the name of the restaurant translating into 3 plates, what they do is change the menu every 3 weeks w/each category in the menu having...3 plates! I found this to be a a fun, creative way to be on brand & keep things interesting to keep people coming back! Cocktails: I didn't take a photo of that menu, so I don't have the specifics, but mine, pictured, was vodka based w/kiwi & chartreuse & my husband's was tequila based w/hibiscus & berries. Both were refreshing & delightful. All the speciality cocktails I do recall were $210 MXN, well worth it for the quality of the ingredients & craftsmanship. Starters: We shared the Smoked Trout Crostini which is house made bread with a generous portion of the smoked trout, avocado & roasted peppers. This was a great balance of topping to bread & was still light & refreshing. We also enjoyed the Crispy Squash Blossoms, a favorite of mine. Very lightly fried & filled to perfection & served on top of a little of the house red sauce & pesto both of which I tasted on their own & enjoyed. Entrees: Again we shared, having from the Primi section the house made Pappardelle served with a generous portion of short rib & surprising, but beautiful touch was the horseradish, akin to how you would have it with a prime rib & it paired wonderfully w/the rest of the dish! From the Secondi section we very much enjoyed the Pork & Beef Meatballs, again served w/house made pasta, prosciutto & rosemary. My husband found the meatballs to be a little on the soft side texturally, but I found them to be beautifully tender & moist so I liked them the way they were & we both agreed the flavor of them as well as the red sauce was great. Wine: I have been working on exploring Mexican wines more so I had the Kumeey Xecueé from Valle de Guadalupe in Baja. This was a delightful red blend that paired nicely w/both the short rib & the meatballs. Dessert: We did skip dessert as nothing here really stood out to either of us & I had been craving a cookie ice cream sandwich from my favorite spot, Paleteria Y Neveria La MIchoacana just one block away. There I had strawberry ice cream sandwiched between two perfect chocolate chip cookies. If you haven't tried this spot, it's a small little Mom & Pop shop that I encourage you to get to!

Tre Piatti is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, offering a wonderful dining experience with both outstanding cuisine and a unique and inviting atmosphere. I started my meal with the Fritto Misto, and it was perfection—lightly battered, fried to a crisp, and seasoned just right. Each bite had the perfect balance of crunch and delicate flavor. For my main course, I had the steamed sea bass. The fish was tender, rich in flavor, and cooked to perfection, showcasing the kitchen’s expertise in handling fresh ingredients. Beyond the food, what makes Tre Piatti truly special is its ambiance. The restaurant is built around two trees that continue to grow within the dining area, creating a natural setting that enhances the experience. The atmosphere is both intimate and relaxed, making it the perfect place for a memorable meal. Service was also top-notch—attentive, friendly, and professional without being intrusive. The staff made sure everything was just right, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Puerto Vallarta, Tre Piatti is a fantastic must-visit for anyone who appreciates authentic Italian cuisine, excellent service, and a beautifully designed space. Highly recommended!

Cute spot in PV for Italian food. I do feel like the cost for what it is is maybe a bit high? We had other Italian food while in PV that was honestly just as good, maybe better and at a lower price point. That said the food is good, the service was attentive. The place is neat inside with a huge tree growing in the middle, but the roof is not the best. We happened to be there during a crazy rain storm and the rain was flowing in down the walls and dripping from the ceiling in many spots. We weren't fans of the eggplant dish, but our other food was good. Standouts were the gorgonzola tortellini, the calamari, and the pappardelle. Cocktails were good too, I appreciated that they were able to make me a delicious mocktail.

Absolutely delicious. In a sea of great places to have dinner. This place will not let you down. Always busy even in off season. If you get the privilege of having DAVID as your waiter even better! The entire staff is top notch, no matter who serves you. But for me, David is all giving. Feel free to talk to him, ask him any questions. That man has one of the biggest hearts I've ever met. The man radiates kindness and his head if full of knowledge. If he's not running, he will spend the time to educate you and your will fall in love with him.

The chef really puts his heart into each dish.. If you're American, this will be exactly what you're looking for, for a fine dinning experience in Puerto Vallarta that is more like home. All food is fresh that day and prepared to order.. As is the majority of restaurants in the area. My favorite thing is to have my coffee early in the morning and watch all of the fresh fruits and vegetables be delivered to all the restaurants. So I know, first hand that they get their stuff fresh that day.

Tre Piatti stands on its own, it's food will leave you feeling like you just had the best meal of the trip. Be ready for a lot of laughter as the guests all enjoy the experience. It's a place to dress up, get a bottle (or 3) of wine, and just totally enjoy your meal, in my favorite community in the world.

A man can only eat so many tacos (the most delicious tacos are in the streets, you will need to ask where, do not be afraid to ask around).

Tre Piatti will give you a limited variety of highly thought out dishes. Not tacos.

I go to Puerto Vallarta A LOT, easily 50 plus times in the past 12 years.

When all the other restaurants are empty, this place is full. There are several reasons for this. As I stated, best staff FOR SURE, excellent food, FOR SURE, feeling totally satisfied, cared for and welcome, for sure.

You can't have a better experience with the entire staff, (hats of to David, I always ask for him).. but know that everyone there works as one team to ensure your experience is flawless.

Highly recommend! (The prices are more in line with U.S prices but that's because you're getting high end food, my suggestion, split a couple entrees so you can taste the work of the chef, each plate is unique, give him the respect of trying his work and not just judging off one...

I went to Tre Piatti my first trip to PV and had a wonderful experience, so we decided to return during our second trip. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad taste in our mouth. Almost immediately upon receiving our menus, our waiter tried to essentially force us into a “tasting menu” of two apps, two pastas, an entree and a dessert (mind you, we are two young women and that’s obviously way too much food). It was a visibly awkward interaction as we tried to politely ask for more time to review the menu. After he left, we decided on one app and two pastas. As we put in our order, he INSISTS we still order this specific appetizer, and wouldn’t take no for an answer. We finally just say yes so he’ll leave us alone, and all throughout the meal he was trying to upsell us to order more things and more drinks. At the end of the meal, he tried to coerce us into ordering a dessert and we flat out said no, we’re too full, we don’t want it, and he just wouldn’t leave it alone! He brings us a taster of the dessert and we still say no. We receive our check and remember that app we didn’t want but he insisted we get? Not only did he charge us full price, it was one of the most expensive things on our bill! It’s a shame because it’s a beautiful restaurant and the vast majority of staff are lovely, but their waiters need to cool it on the upselling. You would’ve thought this dude was trying to meet his monthly sales quota on our dinner alone. Throughout the rest of our trip, we kept talking about how annoying that experience was. Would we return again? Maybe.. but only if we get a...
