Hi everyone this is Christina from TheChristinaReport- YouTube and google! Enough of that let’s talk about this place! Where do I start….. well for starters I must of walked past this place 10xs during the course of my stay and never stopped the menu wasn’t that intriguing. One night they were offering frozen mango margaritas samples and it was “hitting” as the young kids say… lol but my daughter was hungry so I promised my self I’d be back the next day for some. Their happy hour is 2x1 for $200 pesos! So the following day I stopped in for that drink, I told the hostess about the frozen mango drinks I had the day before and how much I liked it…. She said great do you want that I said yes! I want the 2x1 special. Welllllll 2x1 special is only the lime drink! Bummer. However, It wasn’t too bad, they definitely use bottom shelf tequila in all of these bars/restaurants unless other wise noted. It comes with Salt on the rim I hate salt but that was my fault so I just wiped the salt off and drank it. The drink still taste like salt!!! The next drink I ordered I made sure to say sugar on the rim. Unfortunately they still put salt on the rim, I told the waitress about it, it wasn’t my waitress and they seemed bothered by it. The bartender got upset and just wiped the salt off! Added some more lime shook it up and poured the same drink!!! I am pissed at this point, saying to my self you can not be serious! My seat was legit less then 3ft from the bar. The hostess who passed me the drink acted like she was surprised when I spoke on the fact that he just wiped the salt off the drink! I told her please don’t Act like you don’t Know what I am talking About you were standing right there!!!! And watched him. You guys laughed about it! On top of that you really tried to use your body to cover what he was doing! This place is definitely shady! I definitely do not recommend this place at all! This bar and the one attached are two of the same! The service sucked, our waitress was overwhelmed but thing is there wasn’t a lot of people there! You are better off spending Your money else where!!! I definitely do not recommend the phots attached is the bartender and the shady hostess, the picture of the margarita was not worth posting but these shady people...
Read moreIncredibly disappointing choice for dinner in Playa del Carmen. I heard the nice music inside and decided to give a chance on this restaurant. It turns out it was their opening night. So “it should be good!” - you’d think. Not at all. We were never welcome by the owner/manager. The opposite, we were actually waiting for quite a while until someone from the staff came. It was a surprise when we actually found out it was the first night. The person responsible was more interested in following the photographer around that was taking fancy pictures of the food and someone else’s holding the leafs up top to make it look good. None of this would matter if the food was good, probably. Unfortunately, my husband’s meat was served in a sufferable state, not fresh at all. I tried a piece when he told me he couldn’t eat it and I thought he could have food poisoning for that. They had only 3 main courses: the picanha (that we’re informed later they didn’t have it), the salmon and the steak. So in the end, my husband and I were stuck with the salmon - that was reasonable, but not our main choice. Sadly, we suspect we were served the plates that were used to take the pictures for this nice set out of TripAdvisor page, as the taste was from a meat that was sat there for days. After we complained about it, nobody came to check their guests - they were too interested on the fancy pictures. I don’t recommend and I would never come back. Go enjoy yourselves on the other hundreds of great places in Playa del Carmen and don’t...
Read moreBe careful while payment, there is a chance to be deceived.
Two things happen: 2 receipts was wrong exactly for 100 MXN On the receipt is a service charge ( 15% ) added and while card payment they ask for tip again
Everything startet that we ask for a separate bill. The waitress was very unhappy to do that. Finally we get them an paid the amount, no further checks, did not expect failures on a computer print out ( this is our bad, should be done ahead ). When we then talked about the amount we thought it’s a bit high and looked for the details. Both receipts was exactly 100MXN to high. A computer does not make this failure, the amount was manipulated ( yess a guess ). When looks closer, we saw also a service charge added, but they ask for tip too ( either …or ) !!!!! We get 100MXN back ( from the cash payment ), but the card payment was not refunded. The cash register is already closed was the explanation ( we was before the closure time ). We get offered a beer as compensation ( 1/2 price of the manipulation amount ). Finally we left very angry and did not take the offer.
Conclusion: Always double-check your receipt. Changes are easier ahead...
