Oh my Greek gods, let me tell you about Souvlaki Deli in Tulum. This place is the real deal, my friends. Owned and operated by a passionate Greek chef who knows their way around a kitchen, Souvlaki Deli is the spot for authentic Greek cuisine with a hip twist.
First things first, let's talk about the food. The mushroom platter is an absolute game-changer for all my vegan pals out there. Those oyster mushrooms are so savory and juicy, you won't even miss the meat. And speaking of meat, the pork and chicken skewers are out-of-this-world delicious. They're so flavorful and juicy, you'll want to order a second round just to make sure you're not dreaming.
But wait, there's more! The fries are something special at Souvlaki Deli. They're spiced with the flavors of Greece and served up crispy and hot. You'll be fighting over the last fry, mark my words.
And let me just say, I didn't just stumble upon Souvlaki Deli once during my recent stay in Tulum. Oh no, my friends. I made it a point to come back multiple times because I simply couldn't get enough. This place has got that magical combination of amazing food and a cool vibe that keeps you coming back for more.
So if you're in Tulum and looking for a taste of Greece, Souvlaki Deli is the spot. It's accessible to all and will leave you feeling satisfied and happy. Trust me, I know...
Read moreBest Greek food on the stretch between Tulum and Athens and best food I had in Mexico during the first week of our stay. I don’t eat meat and the more appreciate if a restaurant can prepare alternatives that still keep a great texture and flavour!
If you value quality over quantity it’s the place to go (alldough the portions were not small at all)! Vegan and vegetarian friendly, accepts cards. Food recommendations below.
Had the mushroom Souvlaki (crispy on the outside and tender inside) Greek salad (not sure how they got them but it had Kalamata olives) and grilled aubergine (highlight of the evening well cooked all the way and melting in your mouth, compliments to the chef). Everything was just amazing and made with love, even the fries were hand made! Last but not least, secret tip. Try the mountain tea!

Read moreWe walked into this very cozy deli and were immediately greeted by the warm and welcoming host. We ate the pork platter (twice) and a chicken wrap - both dishes exceeded our expectations that were already high from the looks of the establishment and its menu. The meat was juicy, tender, and flavorful and was paired with deliciously seasoned fries and salads. The host was attentive and offered a variety of sauces (tzatziki, a habanero sauce, and his own take on “ketchup”), each so good we had to order another platter to enjoy more of it. They also offered a variety of delicious beverages of which we chose the hosts super refreshing concoction of mineral water and passion fruit juice. This was a 10/10 experience and we’ll definitely be going back. Everyone should make this gem part of their...
