The restaurant doesn’t care about the rewievs so i’m just writing to help other people out. DO NOT GO HERE! MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
We were celebrating my best friend’s 25th birthday. When i reserved the table, i got told that we can’t order that much food because they don’t have time to prepare meals for 14 people. That’s why we ate little something before we got there.
When we arrived to the restaurant they told us that we have to order minimun 65€/person?! If not, we have to leave and can not get the 90€ back i paid for the deposit! They told that the rule is mentioned on their website, but it was not…
After a long argument and rude customer service we got the price downt to 50€/person. We ordered foods etc.
Then happened what i would call a disaster. They started carrying foods to our table that no one knew ordered, same with drinks. One pregnant girl from our group ordered a non-alcoholic drink and she got a vodka martini?!
We did not recieve many foods we ordered and some foods that belonged to other tables, at that point we started to realize that everything is very unorganized.
One of the guests were feeling ill because of flashing lights of the show. (btw we saw 2 ”shows” that lasted all together 5mins) She was violently grabbed by her arm and put her behind some curtains.
Then waitress came to tell me our time is ending and we have to leave soon. Some of our group were still missing their meals… I asked for the bill and last catastrophe started. The missing meals and drinks where on the bill?? We asked about that and staff started blaiming it on us. Like i understand that sometimes things are unorganized but never blame it to customer! We argued about the bill for good 30mins and got prize down a little bit. The staff were extremely rude.
We ended up paying around 200€ of food&drinks we did...
Read moreWe went for a lunch on Saturday just before the 3rd Lockdown. The image of Bar Rouge is advertised as a "fine-dining/exclusive" restaurant on their website, with strict reservation policy and dress code. However, it made me feel like a club/borrel ish nothing was fine dining there. Let's me tell you why: The show was great but only few songs and a dance, that's all. It didn't worth it. We expected a stage with proper performances not like that. With friends it could be fun, but for a date, it may be not the right one. Dirty glasses. They made kind of a fine dining set up but water & wine glasses were dirty. Slow service. Waiters were friendly and pretty but the service was super slow. Drinks and food took so long to arrive to the table. We had to ask several times for attention for new orders or removing dirty plates. A fine-dining restaurant shouldn't be like that. Quality of the food was ok, but they didn't make me "wow". Tuna wasn't fresh and smelly that's a big No-No for sushi.
At the end, the group next to me just stood up and danced like it's a club, i mean they were dancing next to me when still sat there. It's kinda disturbing and unpleasant. So we asked for our desserts quickly and left. I know that restaurant makes their profit by selling alcohol, but please don't focus only on one "V.I.P" table but care about other tables too. We saw other guests also left because of that table but the staff said nothing. To sum up, if you want to have fun with friends and want to have "drinking & eating when clubbing" experience then give Bar Rouge a try. But if you are looking for a fine dining restaurant with a fancy atmosphere, professional service and decent perfomances it could not be...
Read moreI had previously mentioned that I have gluten and lactose allergies. When I arrived, I asked for an allergen menu, but there wasn’t one. I found it quite strange that I couldn’t see what was in the options on the menu because in the Netherlands, every place has an allergen menu. When I asked the waiter, I was told that everything could be made gluten-free and lactose-free in the kitchen. I was relieved and placed my order this way. I was assured that everything in the kitchen was being prepared gluten-free and lactose-free, so I ate with peace of mind. Everything came with sauce and I was told it was safe. About 4 hours after eating, I started experiencing severe stomach pain and nausea. This progressed to diarrhea and vomiting. I felt just like I do after consuming gluten or lactose… my night was ruined. Most likely, the sauces used contained gluten or lactose. You should have known this, or if you couldn't guarantee it, you should have said "the food here is not safe for you, we don’t know the ingredients." These are not just preferences, it’s about health and you should be very careful. Why don’t you have an allergen menu? I ate based on what the kitchen staff told me, and that was very careless. Maybe the staff doesn’t know. For example, soy sauce contains gluten, and not everyone knows that. Perhaps most of what you make contains soy sauce. I’ve been trying to recover for three days. If you have a food allergy, do...
