Hospitality - 4/5 Selection - 4/5 Quality of Food - 4/5 Overall - 4/5

This place was a lucky find and we would go back tomorrow if we could. Note you will need a reservation as this place is small and quaint, and has some of the outstanding Italian food ! So you can do the math. With that let’s get into the review. We were greeted outside and brought in once confirming our reservation. Once seated we quickly reviewed the menu and got our order in. The staff worked as a team for the most part, so we didn't really have a specific waiter. However, for the most part they were kind, prompt, and ensured we were enjoying our meal. As for the food. Well. As stated above it was some of the best Italian my wife and I have ever had. The raviolis were

The noodles were cooked aldente with just enough sauce to join them. The thing that set the whole dish off though was the bacon. It was thick and almost like a crouton. It added a great crunch to the meal, while also giving it the fat it needed. The only thing we had a complaint about out of the whole meal was the steak. It was cooked to perfection, and for the most part had flavor; however, it was tough. Luckily though the tiramisu recovered the meal and we closed on...

What a great restaurant! We went with friends while touring Amsterdam. The food was fantastic. For antipasti, I highly recommend the bruschetta and the focaccia aglio e formaggio. Simple dishes, but I have to say that Carlo and his crew make some of the best I have had. Pastas were great. I got the filetto al barolo served with roasted vegetables. Grilled and plated beautifully.

We were a group of 6, so we got the table in the back, right in front of the kitchen. That is one small and crowded kitchen, but Carlo and his crew create amazing meals there. Once you spend a little time during your meal becoming friends with the staff, Carlo makes you feel like family! Full disclosure, I am not at all Italian. So I used google translate - "Dal Pagliaccio" means "From the Clown". So fitting for Carlo as he joked with us throughout the evening. He nicknamed me Mr. Boomerang, because I want to come back again, my friend!

In an area of Amsterdam full of tourist trap restaurants, this place is an unassuming gem! The windows are BIG, so as you walk by, have a look at what people are eating. You'll want to join them! And you will be delighted after a great...
