0 Stars! The most terrible customer service experience we've ever had (considering I have been living in 4 different countries and travelled a lot). I am writing this while leaving this low-level place and after reading similar reviews this is no surprise. After waiting outside for 10 mins and trying to get the waiters attention, while every waiter was just passing by and ignoring us, a huge umbrella, which is used for the outside terrace fell about centimeters from our heads, strived my arm and caused my iPhone to drop on the floor (others have witnessed this). Obviously shocked from what just happened we finally get to walk inside and told this to the apparent manager/waiter who was about to bring us to our table. His response was a rude: "Well good that you're alive then", while he walks off. We were just shocked and speechless from his attitude towards his customers - not even an apology - awful. Then when he came another 15 mins later to get our orders his literal opening was: "And did you calm down after the umbrella story?". Well this is just the lowest level of customer service out there. I mean did this person get any training? This is the manager? Hahaha omg where did we end up? And I feel so bad for the owner. Still no apology and the worst and most unprofessional form of "taking an order" from customers that are here to pay, (including) your salary! So sad, because it is not supposed to be like that. We just got up and left to get lunch at Sea Food Bar at Spui, an amazing place with the best service and atmosphere. Here? Never again - would not recommend to...
Read moreQuite a disappointment, especially since we’ve had great experiences with other George locations. The sunlit terrace would make a great location for brunch on Sunday. However the dishes are subpar for the price and nothing special. The service tries their best, but our food arrived cold anyway after we had to wait another while before we got salt and pepper. Upon arrival and making ourselves known to have a reservation, the staff couldn’t be bothered and told us just to go to the other side of the terrace and wait for their colleague, only for the same guy to show up five minutes later.
Then there is the atmosphere and the wannabe posh crowd. Although what initially seems like decent and well-mannered visitors, some like to flaunt their keys to their Rolls in your face while smoking heavy cigars as we were about to enjoy our food. Others made some much noise it was almost impossible to have a conversation. Finally the neighbourhood seems to attract drivers with SUVs and some sports cars who just like to exaggerate the use of their throttle. Never mind people in Amsterdam complaining about the noise from airplanes, this neighbourhood will turn you...
Read moreVery bad quality and service for the price. This place is overpriced, the food is okayish but the service is a disaster. I cannot blame the waiters as they are doing their best, but obviously they are students and are not trained to work in this industry. We had to constantly remind them to bring what we ordered (side dishes, bottle of water...). We were seated very uncomfortably at a tiny table. I was squizzed in a corner and could barley move. We ordered 3 cocktails, half of the ingredients were missing. We told the staff it was wrong, and they brought us, without any apologies, the missing ingredients on a plate... Like... you do it yourself. And then when the bill came they tried to charge us 9 cocktails instead of 3! The list could be longer...
