Madam Pancake - Breakfast - Brunch - Lunch — Restaurant in Amsterdam

A bunch of scammers! Everything was just bad! The waiter was very unprofessional. If at least he explained to me the pricing or that I would have a blend meal to assemble myself when I ordered. I wouldn't have let a review. But you didn't bother explaining because we are tourist!

We chose this pancake place because it had good pictures ans good reviews. When we arrived it was a bit crowded. After a while, the waiter who's not very welcoming nor smiling to us gave us a sit. I ordered a pancake with strawberry, banana and topping Nutella. The waiter takes my order without explaining anything to me. Few minutes later I receive my plate, I couldn't believe my eyes, 3 pancakes, a cup of strawberries and a cup of bananas... THAT I HAD TO MAKE MYSELF. The waiter even forgot my Nutella topping! So I ask and he gives me 2 little boxes of Nutella. Like wth I have to make my own meal and the waiter forget a 3 ingredients order... The worst of all is when I saw THE PRICE 17,65€. For like 5 euros to the grocery next store I could make the same pancakes at the hotel! Since the small first page of the menu just indicate "Pimp your Pancake!" I thought the price would be the 2 ads and the topping so like 6,75€. I understood on the receipt I got the "Natural pancakes" with the ads and the topping. The price is a scam and you're not even assembling my pancake. Plus that menu is confusing and I'm sure you know it! I never left a restaurant so...

We were two Dutch locals and a tourist. Pancakes were very good, but service was awful - forgot our orange juice, came back told us it wasn’t entered in their system then forgot cappuccino altogether when they came back with orange juice. Worst of all, they refused to serve us tap water with our meals and other drinks! Bottled water only - at 8 or 9 euros a bottle. We wanted to like this place, the food and the service so much but it was not a good experience at all. And the pancakes were…good.

Also, where is the madam? Three or four unhappy, unfriendly, un-busy men genuinely uncaring and unwilling to be provide basic, decent service, take orders properly, telling us an order they failed to place wasn’t in their system as if that had anything to do with us, and no still water (illegal, isn’t it?)- not a great. Even before our 85 euro bill (95 with undeserved tip) came in we knew we weren’t coming back. There are better pancake places, with better service, better prices and still water available at dozens of other pancake places right in the area. Go...

Lovely café with awesome, beautifully prepared pancakes. You get honey, jam, stroopwafel crumbles and maple syrup on the side to share if you are with someone. It would be nice if they would write on the menu that get those things on the side because my friend ended up ordering Nutella for like + 1 euro thinking that we wouldn’t receive any sauce and then she was a bit annoyed when we did because she then wouldn’t have spend the extra euro (on already expensive pancakes).The staff is nice and helpful. It is a bit expensive so having breakfast here will at least cost you 15€ and they refused to give me tap water which was annoying especially because it is a very normal thing to ask for here in the Netherlands. I work at a restaurant myself and I know the spiel - if they believe you to be a tourist you won’t get any but if you are dutch you will. The food is already expensive so if you want that tap water maybe be a bit insistent. I had the red crush with added chocolate flakes and a cappuccino on the side and it was...
