If you’re looking to connect with locals rather than the bland, samey, touristy alternatives, I highly recommend Pizza Taxi. Easy walk from the Pijp Metro station and trolly stop. A block from the Bicycle Hotel. Several vegetarian options for pizza— I enjoyed the Taxi (see menu shots). I saw others eating lasagna and it looked good too. The waiter (didn’t catch his name) was friendly, willing to talk, and brought everything to the table with cordial conversation. Pizza was great! Perfect balance of freshness, crunchy/chewy crust, not too heavy on the cheese. Olive oil and red pepper-infused olive oil are provided on the tables. We had a wonderful Italian beer too. There’s outdoor tables but sitting inside was comfortable too with the door open so we could still sample the outdoor evening atmosphere. I think our waiter was the owner and there was lots of colorful/authentic banter going on, making me think it is a family-run affair. Please support them! Sorry I forgot to get photos of my pizza...

We have found a new favourite restaurant for our future Amsterdam holidays. We are looking forward to next year....
