We made a reservation for two reasons; One, your winelist is excellent and we were looking for a place that has a good selection of Burgundy's. Sinck hits the mark on that point, excellent wines for reasonable prices. When we entered the premises we were not very warmly greeted, a very small surface posing as a dinner table was prepared for us last minute, barely 20 centimeters away from our neighbouring guests. This was not our idea of a nice night out. Crazy right? So then we asked if we could get a table inside, this request was granted to us with visible and audible disdain. Eventually we sat down. It took far too long to get the attention you would expect newly arriving guests to be given, we did not feel welcome at all. Finally we managed to place our order. One of us is a wine expert and we did not order run of the mill wines. It was at that point that the service pivoted from what I can only describe as 'have your dinner here but dont bother us too much' to 'oh, you are ordering serious wines, let us take you more seriously'. Seriously? In the end we had a great night, the wine was indeed excellent, served at the right temperature. the food was nice too, perhaps the Côte de Boeuf a little on the chewy side, not the best in terms of flavor either, but fine. If you are going to make the effort to serve excellent wines, which clearly you do, and more than passable food, why ruin it with unprofressional, bordering on rude, service? Its a pity, so...
Read moreThe service was very welcoming at the restaurant, it was easy to book over the phone but only at their working hours. No way to book at any other time. The restaurant interior is very stylish and esthetic. They serve the best complimentary bread which I found out where is sold and visited the next day. Best bread in Amsterdam. Also had great recommendations on wine selection. On the food - I had gnocchi which were good but not wonderful as the flavor was a bit “quiet”. My husband had tartar (good) and fish with shrimps (good but a bit too much salt). We had a misunderstanding with the dish for our daughter. Kids eat simple food. So when we asked to bring just gnocchi and parmesan (which was suggested by the waiter) - we still got full gnocchi dish with truffles and sauce etc. after discussion they changed it but still charged us for a full 25€ truffle gnocchi. While when I called for reservation in advance I asked what children dishes they make and how they charge them. And the person on the phone said they do plain gnocchi and charge less than the menu dish. But the worst part was when we paid the bill and checked the items and had main fish dish of my husband counted twice. I hope it was a mistake but if we didnt check we would have paid 25€ more on top of already overcharged for the gnocchi with no truffle. So with mixed feelings I cant say 100% if we would like...
Read moreDining at Sinck Restaurant is an experience worth remembering. From the moment I entered the restaurant, I was greeted with the restaurant manager, Sabas Joosten. His attention to detail and genuine care for the guests set the tone for the entire evening.
One of the standout dishes of the evening was the Wortel dish. This exquisite creation not only delighted the taste buds but also brought a sense of connection to Mother Nature. a unique twist that showcased the chef's creativity and dedication to highlighting the natural flavors of the ingredients.
