Restaurant Sophia — Restaurant in The Hague

Visited at July 2024 for a nice dinner in a warm summer evening. Unfortunately the experience was a downer, the food was from bad to inedible. I ordered steak which it was the worst steak I ever had. It was more than a shoe sole way overcooked. I said I want it medium. Then the Caesar salad was a joke. Fist of all it came without chicken which was indicated in the menu. The dressing was absent it was literally few lettuce leaves with grated Parmesan. Such a disappointment. The starters were also a joke with ridiculous quantities in a wannabe fine dining plates.The burger was then only thing which you could eat so we ended up ordering extra food just not to lean completely hungry. They literally collected our plates full of food. One of the waiters was collecting used glasses from tables by placing his fingers in them, taking them to the station outside where he got with the same hands clean knife/fork for customers that just arrived. So unhygienic, just a gross. We left disappointed ☹️ and -140€ for that. All I all a very well...

Mooie en sfeervolle inrichting maar een uitermate teleurstellende service en bediening. Met vier personen geluncht en mijn parner besteld een tropisch drankje van de kaart, iedereen heeft zijn lunch en al een tweede drankje en mijn partner nog niets. Gevraagd waarv het drankje bleef en het antwoord was " we hebben de ingrediënten niet op voorraad" of ze iets anders van de kaart wilde bestellen. Heeft ze gedaan na nogmaals heel lang wachten komt er een drankje aan met een geheel andere kleur dan besteld. Geproefd en bleek niet het juiste drankje te zijn. Bediening gaat het even vragen aan de bar of het wel het correcte drankje is. Komt terug is een ander drankje of ze nogmaals een andere keuze wil maken. Inmiddels zitten we al 55 minuten binnen en ze heeft in al die tijd nog niets gedronken. Uiterst teleurstellend om het zacht uit te drukken. De manager liep in de ronte en heeft niet eens de moeite genomen om zich te verontschuldigen voor de slechte service. Dit is dan een 5 sterren hotel met een Top restaurant ?... En het ergste was nog wel dat er maar 3 tafeltjes bezet waren dus aan de drukte heeft het niet gelegen. ECHT...

The whole place was just not good, bland chicken sitting in a burned sauce. There is no way they tasted (or even smelled) what they were sending out or they would have realized quickly the sauce the entire dish was sitting in was burned.
