This place was a different restaurant before. Yesterday I visited with a friend and was unpleasantly surprised by a few things. The food was indeed delicious, BUT portions were expensive, 20 EUR for a plate of fish that would leave yourto want more food. But that's not the issue, the waiter was.. i don't know, never experienced this, someone giving me the menu, mostly pushing me to order this or that, if you ask him to recommend something, he'd recommend the most expensive thing on that category of the menu. Also told us to start with a few plates of food to share but we didn't want that. When we wanted to order two portions of fries the reactions was "No!" and i felt like I moved backwards on my chair a little, it was so sudden. He said we don't order fries but fries and (something else, don't remember what, think sth like broccoli or whatever) and then in the end when we finished the food, he just simply put the menu back in mine and my friend's hands while we were in the middle of a conversation without saying anything, so we could choose a desert. If you ask me I wouldn't have left a tip, but i just can't leave no tip, so when I got the bill of 58 eur for 1 carpaccio, 1 portion of fries and my fish, i said 60 eur, then realized it's only 2 euro and said 63 BUT the reaction of the waiter was wide eyes in disbelief as to how little tip i'm leaving him, which made me realize i didn't calculate it properly and corrected myself rather than actually not leaving any tip which i felt was the right thing to do. It was just an awkward experience. The chef was amazing and a nice guy, from the few words we had with him.
So in short - delicious food, but portions could be bigger, great atmosphere, modern renovated place which was a pleasure to sit in, but, sadly, poor service, too pushy. I'd rather have the most expensive stuff recommended only if they really were the best, and i'd like a cheaper version recommended too and i take the decision and no bad looks when i don't leave a big tip, tip is given for a good service, not by default. Has to be earned. I'd given it to the chef, to be honest.
I wouldn't even bother leaving a review besides 5 stars if i weren't that shocked by this...

Read moreFinally, a good restaurant in The Hague. I went here on a Friday night. Where we were seated by a delightful host. Very spontaneous and caring. Started off with some amazing cocktails. I had the amaretto sour. The place had a great dark vibe. Decorations and ambiance was like what I would imagine a sexy speak easy would have been back in the days. Now to the food. YEAH. Delish. Shared dining. We were with 4 and had 8 different meals. Everything was flavorful and fancy. Seasoned and presented beautifully. Don’t expect greek food though. Expect fine dining but casual with bigger portions. From roasted peppers, to alfredo pasta, short ribs, steak, buratta and more. A mix of different things. So sharing was the perfect choice because my mouth had explosions of different flavours. Would deff go here again. Especially for the host. What...
