27 Nov 2021 - This is a Vietnamese cafe that is located on Manchester Street and is located in Kensington Building. The cafe is small and has very limited indoor seating. Generally cater for takeaways.
The menu is very straightforward and simple. It is not overwhelming (which is a good thing) with choices but rather nicely balanced.
They use pork, chicken and beef as their ingredients.
I've come here after reading the reviews on Google Maps. I ordered a Banh Mi sandwich (pork) and chicken noodle soup (pho) as well as iced Vietnamese coffee. I was thoroughly enjoy the chicken noodle soup 😋🤤👍😊 and I couldn't get enough. I was a happy person after eating it. The broth is rich and flavoursome, also by adding squeezed lemon juice will make it even tastier! It is different from other chicken noodle soup from Khmer Noodle House on Riccarton Road and other Vietnamese restaurants.
The Banh Mi is delicious too!
Overall, it was a good experience from this Vietnamese cafe.
Good portion size.
Street parking 🅿 only.
They accept cash and EFTPOS including credit card payments (Paywave payments are available, for those who want to know).
Would I go back? Yes 😀. This cafe is now my favourite eatery because of their chicken noodle pho. Well worth a try and you will not be disappointed. Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. It was yummy and delicious 😋. Customer service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Friendly and chatty owner 😁😄.

Owner Response: “You have so many bad review of my shop, and some your review is not true, I will report with google”
My Response: I have been to Christchurch once in my life and have never left a Google review in the remote area EVER, as you can see from my review history.
Friday, September 8th, 2023 I arrived at your location at 10:15AM and the doors were closed with the, “Sorry, We’re Closed” sign on the door. Your street sign was just inside the locked door and there was not an employee in sight. Google has your Friday opening time at 10:00AM. I was very much looking forward to having your sandwich and a coffee, as it is highly recommended. The pictures look great and the prices are reasonable. I was on limited time and had just checked out of my hotel at 10AM.
However, instead of apologizing for being late, or for having the wrong times posted on Google, you decided to tell a lie to avoid humiliation. This tells me you have bad business etiquette and I hope that you take this negative review as a lesson. Be a better business.
Make great food and take responsibility for your flaws. If I come back to your city, I hope you’re still in business because all I really wanted was a delicious bánh...
Read moreI don’t usually write reviews here but this one is worth a call out. My first time having lunch here, my order was messed up and poor customer service, pretty bad dine in experience.
Your reply basically showed how poor the customer service is. I had 2 bites and you were saying 1/3??? You didn’t get rid of all carrots. It was my first time dining in here and you didn’t explain to me what “traditional” was, I thought banh mi as a whole was “traditional”, also how come you didn’t remember what I ordered? You literally told another customer “sorry, he took your order”, so you knew someone else ordered “traditional” but just served it to me anyway? And it was rude that you blamed on me for taking another customer’s order.
Absolutely awful and I will not recommend this...
