Cheeky Chapati — Restaurant in Hibiscus and Bays

I only write reviews when places either make my day or ruin it. This place was a wonderful experience, mostly due to staff's "kind" attitude & food was great as well. Details Below: Went there today, been some time since we last came here, it was called Bolliwood back then(under a different management perhaps). Service: The service here is superb, they gave the kids colouring stuff(drawings with a kids menu in it & color pencils, simple stuff but one less thing to tackle) as soon as we entered and the kids were kept engaged. The staff went out of their way to be polite and spoke enough, suggested and listened in equal parts. I told them they did an amazing job & that I would put it in a review as well, so this is that. Timing: We started off with drinks, then Apetizers/Quick Bites followed by the main course. The order of service and timing were on point, we always had something to munch or sip on. Cost: Price is more on the medium side, but I really won't mind coming here often, hope the staff don't change. Suggestions for improvement: Cooling: Invest in an air con, or if it is already there please turn it on during summer noon times. Portion Sizes: Try to increase portion size, or mention roughly how many adults it can be shared between, on the menu; We had to order a second curry and some more waiting time which was a minor inconvenience. Tissues: Have additional tissue boxes on the table, a large napkin with the cutlery works for fast food places, but curries are a lot more messier add in kids and an easy to reach open tissue box would be an added positive. Juices: The kids juices were a bit too sweet, they love sweet stuff but then they couldn't drink more than 2 sips of the Traffic Light drink, could be a one off thing, but if not its something you can improve. Mocktails: Tried the coconuty thing, the raspberry thing & lastly the lime thingy, all 3 mocktails were bland compared to my favourites, the ones @ Mekong Baby, CBD; these weren't bad per se, but felt like they were watered down, could have used like 2x more flavour.

Overall: Happy customer, will be back again, staff did an amazing job to make the experience...

Dined here the other night. The place was very quiet, however it still took over 10 minutes for us to be acknowledged and seated. We walked in before another couple who had a different ethnicity and they were seated immediately. Once we were seated, we were ignored for 30 minutes. When our food arrived, we were not given napkins or cutlery, so I had to go retrieve them myself. The amount of times I had to retrieve my own things resulted in another member of the public waving me down as they thought I was a staff member. The staff made a huge deal to speak to the other couple who came in at the same time as us, but barely spoke two words when we paid for our meal. We left extremely upset by the lack of service. There was one lovely young girl there who we saw working very hard who was the only member of staff who seemed interested in providing good service, however it was hard for her as all the other staff members were quite rude and not helpful. Food was nice, however mains did not come with some items as listed on the menu which was disappointing as we paid full price. Sadly, we will not...

This was our favourite restaurant for a curry night. We'd given up eating in the restaurant because of the service, waiting an hour for food while others came sat down and ate. So we ordered for delivery, took 75mins and arrived cold. Next time our order declined because they were too busy, the food is great. Tried Uber tonight, paid extra to get priority delivery which was only $2, arrived quick and hot, thought this is the way to go. Sadly no, no rice with a $75 order for 2 people. I called the restaurant and apparently Uber is expensive to them so they aren't including rice anymore. So the curry us going cold while we hungrily watch the rice cooker. I would have cooked rice while waiting but no mention when ordering. Perhaps better not to advertise 99c delivery, happy to pay more for the convenience of delivery with rice.
