Pizza Hut Petone — Restaurant in North Island

My daughter and I were visiting in the area and wound up talking too long and forgot to get something for dinner. So we looked on Google Maps for any place that might still be open late on a Monday night. So we drove into Petone and found this place just about to close at 10:50pm. Their lights were on but once we parked they were just turning them off when we walked up. But seeing us disappointed, this lovely “father and daughter”(?) insisted that we come in and be get whatever we wanted. Wow. So we ordered the big New Yorker and wow did they make a nice pizza! Honestly our expectations weren’t that high at that time of night but wow we were impressed with how lovely the crust was toasted just right with the generous amount of cheese and toppings that I would not hesitate to go back for again. So needless to say between the hospitality and the quality of the food, we are happy to give this family Pizza Hut our highest...

We used Pizza Hutt Petone for our first Pizza Lunch of the year in a School fundraiser. TJ was exceptional to deal with - efficient and professional in all aspects of the service experience. The order of 94 pizzas was ready to be picked up and order correct. Customer service great in terms of helping get them into the car, especially on a rainy day. Pizzas well received by parents and students 'delicious' 'tasty'. Good size, plentiful toppings. Not as cheap as one of their competitors but superior in terms of quality of pizzas and service received. Recommended by a couple Sunday schools and various friends and family also. We like the new store in Petone. Store well lit, tidy displays, clean inside, fast, efficient and price friendly pizzas. Good, cheap-as pizza. You want GREAT pizza? go to Hells Pizza. but you want OK pizza, REALLY cheap? go to Straw Hat Petone. Recommendation for ANY Straw hat including this one: Go light on the toppings. their toppings are definitely their weakest point. sauce is good, cheese is good, pizza crust is good... but stay on the short side on the toppings.
