Zambrero Petone — Restaurant in North Island

If you're a vegetarian or a vegan I'd steer clear of this particular joint. Zambrero in general seems okay but I have had 2-3 average experiences with this store, with the last being rice so undercooked that it was crunchy throughout the entire 75% of the burrito it occupied.

Having a laugh charging what they charge when the rice can't even be cooked properly, let alone the lack of sauce/fillings. $13.50+ for a rice wrap lol.

UPDATE: Didn't take my very own advice and regretfully ended up getting dinner from this store again. Ordered a Superfood Burrito only to take a bite and encounter white rice instead of black, never mind what else was probably missing. Asked if they could make another one and they didn't have any beans left and asked if we could wait 20 minutes for them to be cooked before bickering between each other. Oh, and the white rice was still...

The portion sizes here are amusingly small for one but the ingredients and sauces are good and they at least have a mission you can get behind.

However, today I went into the Petone location and no one was on the floor. Had to wait 5 minutes for a staff member to even come out to serve us. Then she bluntly informed us “by the way, there aren’t any beans” No apologies, nothing. No offer to substitute for guacamole or extra rice or take a buck off the bill.

Extremely rude staff member and poor planning for them to run out of an ingredient that is literally in every single menu item. It would’ve been alright if they had apologized or substituted, but literally nothing. Honestly, I think she would’ve been much happier if we had just left and not given them business at...

Worst customer service ever! (Petone)

I'd order a Superfood Borrito and it supposed to come with loads of guacamole and they just spread a miserable amount of leftover on the wrap, refusing to top up with a fresh one, claiming they're running out of that. I'd also purchase a $7 Chips & Dip with a small quantity of chips and no guacamole at all! It was just me in the shop with 2 staff members and they're just lazy to full fill the container... I knew they were lying because when I was eating there I saw they're replacing the toppings including guacamole to serve other customers. No excuses!

Definitely not recommend...
