Everything a pub should be is encorporated by Father Ted's. There is a solid range of tap beers, ciders and other beverages to satisfy anyones needs. From classics like Heineken and Guinnes to lesser known ciders and APA's. The atmosphere and vibe of the place is also nice and cosy. Not too big, but nice and small. The old bulky wooden furniture solidifies that cosy feeling. It is further amplified by the noises of other people having a drink and a laugh. The bartender is also a nice man who is the type of guy you want standing behind a bar and serving customers. For a pub, the food they serve is also very good. It exceeded my expectations in a pleasant way. I was there on tuesday, steak night, and it did not dissapoint. Great food, great drinks, amazing atmosphere. A nice place to visit if you are around.

Didn’t get a welcoming feeling as I expected when I came in here. Mainly weird looks. Which seem to come from our race judging from the other reviews on here. And the bartender didn’t even measure my shot for my drink and when I asked for another since the first one was clearly only a half he said it was already doubled. It’s almost as if he didn’t think I saw what was poured in the first place. So I pretty much paid for a glass on cranberry juice. If you aren’t white I suggest going to a different bar.

A pretty dark and compact pub. The bar area is small, the seating is fairly limited and the lighting is almost suspiciously dim. Prices (like Auckland CBD at large) are expensive for what you might get elsewhere, with the best offer being Heineken bottles for $5.00 NZ. The men's bathroom is very compact and needs an overhaul. Finally, this is not really a pub you get dressed up for.

Home away from home in the heart of the city - the staff are SO lovely, the NZ cider is dry and tasty, the Guinness is good, and they have a pool table! The music is perfect. Sure it's a bit pokey but the people make up for it. I'm a big fan of the outdoor bench. Long live Father Ted's and don't forget to tip (ah go on... Go on, go on, go on)

Overall your classic casual Irish pub. Menu is small but isn’t too shabby, however would like more traditional types of meals to be on offer. Food specials change daily which is nice. Staff were lovely. Venue could be spruced up a bit and tables weren’t wiped down from previous patrons. Good range of drinks behind bar and on tap
