Came to the restaurant with high expectations after seeing a sponsored video advertisement on @locavore.eats. We booked a table for two and upon arrival, we weren't sure if you're supposed to wait out front to be seated or to just head in. After going inside ourselves, we were given menus and waited, thinking someone would come and take our order as no one said "when you're ready just come up to the counter" etc., but that never happened so we went to the counter ourselves. Drinks arrived promptly so we thought our food would too as it was a quiet night but no, we ended up waiting over an hour for our food because apparently our order didn't process and the one person who was front of house at no point came to our table to check if we had received anything or if everything was alright. After waiting 30 minutes for our food, we had to go up ourselves to ask if it was ready, they responded with "sorry, it'll be 10 minutes" with no explanation. Other customers were still arriving AND we could see they were receiving their food before us when it should be all prioritisation on the table that is still waiting. We were given 4 pappadums as "compensation" for the wait. When the food came out, we ordered the tandoori chicken, naan, rice and crab madras. The first two were plenty fine, our rice never arrived and the crab madras was a poor excuse of a meal as it was the smallest crab that was lacking any meat and still in its shell, which was not specified in the menu and no tools were given to help extract the meat. When we went to pay, we discussed why we weren't happy to full price due to the awful service we experienced wherein this whole process took another 15 minutes. Management was so poor as the communication was lacking due to all the staff not being able to speak fluent English, and when discussing our points, they were more concerned about how the crab madras was made rather than the 1 hour + wait for our food. The staff was also shocked when we said we didn't want to pay full price when they should have considered themselves lucky that we paid anything at all, considering the whole experience should have been on the house after such bad service. When we pointed out that we never received our rice, the FOH so kindly offered that we could have it takeaway and when we asked to void it off the total bill they said that "it's free" where then I pointed on the receipt that it costs $2. Overall, I'm sure if we had received our food promptly it would have been a fine experience, but the fact that we were never checked on and had to ask for everything ourselves soured the experience. Management needs to be severely looked at if they can't communicate and look after their customers and don't even know...
Read moreThe outside look of the restaurant appealed me and after reading mixed reviews I finally thought of giving it a try. Not very surprisingly, this Indian restaurant also failed to impress due to several reasons.
We ordered 2 biriyani (1 chicken and 1 goat), chicken tandoori tikka, goat curry, and paneer something. The first thing that caught my attention was the vibrant and almost unnatural colors used in the preparation. It was evident that artificial color was heavily relied upon, which raised concerns about the dish's authenticity and use of additives.
Moving on to the biryani, I couldn't help but notice that the flavors and textures fell short compared to a traditionally prepared biryani. It was like the instant biriyani these days Indian food places are providing. The rice lacked the distinct aroma and complexity of spices.
Again, the goat curry was a glaring disappointment. The overpowering red color seemed artificial, hinting at the possible use of excessive food coloring. Unfortunately, the taste of the curry also failed to impress.
Only great thing about the place was they have a nice place, however no waitress. The chicken tikka lived to its expectation( taste wise), but again excessive colors. This may sound exaggerating, but my friends finger were red even the next day morning.
Overall, the experience was average, with the dish lacking the authentic flavors and quality I had hoped for. It would be beneficial for the establishment to reconsider the use of artificial colors, invest in fresh and natural ingredients, and focus on refining the flavor profile of the dishes they offer.
I believe that with these adjustments, the establishment has the potential to provide a more satisfying and authentic...
Read morerecently visited Hyderabad Food and Beer Garage, and I must say, the place was nothing like the pictures advertised online. It's always empty, which should be a red flag for any potential customers. The staff here has a major attitude problem. If you're running a business that’s struggling, you should at least be humble and approachable, but instead, they act all high and mighty. The place itself looks shabby, and honestly, it feels like it must be running at a loss.
If the owner is wondering why this place isn’t profitable, the answer is clear: the staff. The way they treat customers is appalling, and it’s ruining what could’ve been a decent establishment. I felt unsafe, especially as a single woman. The staff's behavior even bordered on harassment, including inappropriate comments, which is completely unacceptable.
I witnessed an Uber Eats delivery person being harassed by the staff too. It was shocking to see how they treated someone just trying to do their job. The overconfidence of the staff is alarming when you can see the business is clearly struggling.
I really hope the owner reads this and considers making some serious changes, especially with the staff. If they don’t, I fear this place will continue to lose customers and...
