McDonalds have started a new trend the 'SLOW food restaurant '.
I was out with my Family, Wife daughter and two grand kids. We visited the McD’ Queen Street store Dec18. With 12 self serve kiosks, only 5 being used, not that busy.
It took 8 minutes to place an order that would have taken a minute at a counter. In the meantime the grand kids are getting bored and scratchy.
Our order never appeared on the status monitor with the others, above the counter but many did, about 6 were processing, 4 serving, communication was terrible, 15 minutes later someone yelled out our number and when we went and picked it up and brought it back the food was luke warm. Even in the days of the 2 minute readymade food warmer, our meals would have been hotter.
My Big Mac combo was anything but Big and the burger on it’s own not worth $6 let alone $11.20. Given the size, it’s worst value for money of all burger chains. I read somewhere that since inception Big Mac has reduced in size by 40% and increased in price by 400%. That’s true. I remember when McD opened in Auckland, the Big Mac was $1.50 and ‘BIG’. At an average 2.25% inflation should now only be $4.50 today, about the same as you pay at your local fish and chippie.
Apart from the overall size, the meat patties are thin and much of my Big Mac was spread about the box, like it had been dropped in there from a great height.
So far, underwhelmed.
We were still a bit peckish, my daughter had two digital vouchers to use up, one for a cheeseburger, the other for two cheeseburgers, three cheeseburgers in total. We decided as this would be our last visit we might as well get them now. It literally took longer to order those two vouchers than our original meal because guess what, you cannot use two vouchers in the one order at the same time. Our daughter had to go through the order process twice. In the meantime, now 8 numbers apart. The first burger arrived in a reasonable'ish time, the number yelled out. My daughter brought it to the table and ‘went back’ to the counter and waited and waited. I went up while she was there and was about to yell out the number myself, when the lady reaches beside the counter, not even from the packing table and calls out ONE FIVE FIVE. Three cheeseburgers, for the same customer, 147 and 155, arrived ten minutes apart. If the order were taken by a human being they would have been combined and gone through at the same time but it appears that’s now too hard.
A full hour to get and eat a meal for three adults and a couple of children, at a ‘fast food restaurant’, anything but.
Now totally disheartened. What happened Macca’s? How could they lose the plot, soooo much.
Ray Crock would be turning...
Read moreNot sure if the franchisee owner ever looks at the Google comments here, but they seriously need to if they don't! Went in today, morning, 18/11/2022. Once again, the self service panels not printing out receipts, nothing new. I could see it was "10", but not knowing it was actually 110. So, when this young Kiwi chick said "110", I simply asked the question, "what was in the order". You would of thought I asked her something highly offensive??! She looked at me like I was trash, then mumbling something about my order with serious attitude as she just walked away. A bag of dust would have had more interest in the job!! Her customer service was utter garbage! Anyway, I guess it's McDonald's at the end of the day. Also, I think it's time to retire the cleaner there, she acts like she is the "prison warden" of the place... 😡 Update: 24/03/2023. So I decided to venture into this place again today, and seriously wish I hadn't. I know there is an egg shortage in my country, but this is pathetic. I ordered a sausage and EGG McMuffin. So, as I'm leaving this mess, I feel my bag is somewhat lighter, I look inside and what do you know, NO EGG! It clearly says on my packet sausage AND EGG. Seriously wish I never had gone back because my now egg was full of hideous shell! Plus the muffin wasn't toasted properly. That's it, I'm seriously never...
Read moreWe attended the yearly Farmer's Santa parade and thought we'd pop in for a quick bite. The service was really good and we enjoyed our meal at one of the restaurant's tables. We were seated for 5 minutes when one of the employees asked if we were done eating and wanted to start cleaning the table. I showed him we are still having our meal and he indicated we should finish our meal and leave the restaurant because other patrons were waiting to be seated. I looked around and the restaurant was surprisingly empty at that stage and multiple seats were unattended.
We were really disappointed at the treatment from the Asian employee. As we were completing our meal though a lady approached us from the restaurant and said we were welcome to sit and enjoy the parade from inside the restaurant as it was raining outside. I told her just a few moments earlier we were told to leave and she was quite shocked at what we told her.
Having a meal at a restaurant should not be an unpleasant experience and really hope their management looks into this matter. Won't be supporting them again. Thanks to the lady though who showed empathy towards a paying family with...
