Have to say I am pretty disappointed with Wyndham st Anytime fitness. I have been a member since before the gym opened, signing up because of the convenient location. I usually gym after work each day and park my scooter inside the gym, safely next to the cubbies. This was going well until recently where I was approached by the gym manager and was told that scooters are not welcome in the gym anymore. This made me feel embarrassed and unwelcome in the gym. I was told that the reason for this is because there is not enough space to park them which I thought was strange because I have only ever seen one other person park their scooter in the gym at the same time as me, and we both safely parked them to the side of the cubbies. Instead of coming up with a solution for members that use scooters to commute to and from the gym, management decided to simply ban them. This is not doing the best thing for customers and I am disappointed that they are no longer welcome in the gym.
The gym itself is brand new, but if you enjoy weights and cable machines then perhaps consider another gym or branch. The freeweights area is quite small with only enough room for two seats in front of the mirror, and only two cable hooks. The functional area is quite big and decently equipped if you are into that sort of workout. The showers are decent but its silly that there are no mirrors in the shower room. I did a 1 week “free” trial with my partner and 20mins into the “quick” sign up process I was informed I had to pay $40 EACH which would be refunded (lies). After the trial we chose not to go ahead and I texted Beatriz to let her know we wouldn’t, and I asked for a refund which I was told I had to come in to the gym for. However whenever I tried to go in they weren’t there when I would try, even during staffed hours and when I finally got her on the phone after texting and calling previously, she was extremely unfriendly and rude about it and told me it was too late and they will not refund me. I was told because it had been longer than a week that the digital pass was unable to be used ever again (which is a complete lie) it’s a digital pass (which didn’t even work for the first 3 days) that can be reset. And when I explained I had tried coming in Beatriz questioned me on my I hadn’t tried to come in more often and asked why I was so busy which is not her business and was being extremely rude.
