I am editing my review because the owner commented as well as were captured on Little Red Book(Chinese version of Instagram)
Is it delicious? Yes. Sort of.
What's the customer service like?
If you are Non-Chinese customers, expect to wait longer to receive your orders because CHINESE customers will get priority over you even if you come in and order earlier than you.
This happened on Sunday around 1510HR, 18 AUGUST 2024.
Me and my partner(NON-CHINESE)came in and ordered two drinks and strawberry bingsu. 5 minutes later, group of three chinese ladies come in and sat in front of us then ordered Mango and Taro Bingsu and got their orders within 5 minutes. Then these chinese family(group of 3)comes in and order a menu and got theirs within 5 minutes. We were waiting 20 minutes and still nothing.
We asked the female staff about our strawberry bingu, she replies "We are still making it"(Not even sayibg sorry). 30 Minutes in...still nothing, then the MALE STAFF MEMEBER looks at us and ask what we are waiting on then he talks with the female staff we asked before then TALKS to each other. 40 minutes in, we finally get our STRAWBERRY BINGSU.
Was it worth waiting for 40minutes? NOT REALLY.
Do you think they were busy and forgot about our order or actually being RACIST and prioritise orders by CHINESE and NON-CHINESE?
Like how could you forget and do not appologize to the customers while have audacity to just keep ignoring. Is it CHINESE Culture or just owner commenting on customer review saying that it's customer's fault that we judged wrongly.
Judge yourself. But WE AINT GOING BACK TO THIS STORE. Retrain your staff members before judge your customers experience rather than ONLY listen to your staff members or straight up accusing customers that it...
Read moreI wanted to share my experience at Sip n Chill and hopefully clear the air regarding some of the negative reviews I've seen.
I'm someone who takes reviews seriously before choosing a restaurant, and despite reading a few negative comments about this place, I decided to give it a try because I had always wanted to experience Bingsu for the first time—it just looks so delicious!
From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by JADE, who provided exceptional service throughout my visit. She took the time to explain what Bingsu is and recommended one she thought I would enjoy. Let me tell you, her recommendation was spot on—I absolutely loved it! The Brulee Flavour Bingsu was amazing, and when I asked for a little extra cream halfway through, JADE kindly brought it over at no additional cost.
This review specifically reflects my experience with the Bingsu and the wonderful service I received. I haven't tried other items on the menu, and since this was my first time having Bingsu, I don't have anything to compare it to. However, I can say that I'm usually a tough person to impress, and both the dessert and the customer service exceeded my expectations.
Regarding other's comments about the ambiance, seating etc, I feel it's important to note that everything is clearly visible from the outside. You know what to expect before entering, so criticizing the ambiance after choosing to eat here seems unfair to me.
Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend it to others looking to try delicious Bingsu accompanied by excellent service. I'll definitely be...
Read moreNice to see HK desserts are making a come back. This shop has a self serve order station which prints a docket and you wait for seating. Unfortunaly the shop have very limited seating and may I add that the tables and chairs seem very flimsy, it may be a better option to order takeaway and enjoy the desserts in the comfort of your own home or a park somewhere, especially as the location of the shop has no on street parking very near. The food and drinks itself are good. Not sweet and for the portion to price, it's definitely on the lower price side if things but does not impact the quality. The sweet dew items came in a beautiful old style cantonese bowl and had a range of items. One item you will rarely see are the water chestnut balls which where you bite into releases a mildly sweet liquid. I also got a matcha drink with salty soy milk foam topping and the drink was warm and comforting, salty and sweet, which is especially nice on days you just don't want to have caffine. I wish the drink could have been hot instead of warm but I do understand the temperature will compromise the soy foam and it wouldn't stay afloat on top. Overall, the store is nice and bright for photos, self service available for easibility and the menu is extensive enough for everyone to...
