This is the worst Indian restaurant I've eaten at in the CBD, hands down. The experience and the responses from the server was extremely frustrating. Firstly no napkins were readily available for the entrees, which should come natural for any dine-in experience.
Then the food items - Samosa - Probably the most edible item, the filling was a bit more moist than I'd expect, and rather bland (perhaps more toasted seeds of some sort? Cumin? Fennel?). Overall though they were passable enough, just not as flavoursome as other places in the Auckland CBD.
Chicken Lollipop - The quality of the chicken was very questionable, and the outer coating was just too much salt and other unappealing flavours. Getting through the thick coating just left you with chicken that wasn't worth the journey, chewy and rather flavourless considering how over-seasoned the covering was.
Chicken Tikka Masala - Portion size look about normal initially but upon digging deeper I found there were just 4 bits of chicken so the sauce to meat ratio was heavily disproportionate. The curry was served at marginally above room temperature, without rice (the server said it's not their practice to serve rice, you have to order this, but didn't take the initiative to up-sell me rice during ordering). I had to ask this to be reheated, which barely took it above lukewarm.
Serving: No water provided, had to ask for napkins, and get this.. they gave NO CUTLERY at all for eating the curry even. I'm not sure if I was expected to drink it or just scoop it out with my fingers or push my face into the bowl and eat it like an animal.
Absolutely despicable experience overall and I'm unsure how this sits at the rating it does for Google. Left most of the food uneaten and had to go buy a second...

I went there with family of 4! We ordered 4 parathas and 3 raita , the waiter cum cashier asked us as you are family is it ok if I serve Raita in 1 bowl, we said ok we don't have any problem! Table wasn't clean, no space to sit! Anyways, we had paratha and later 2 of us wanted to have a tea, so we ordered "masala chai"! Other waiter named "MANISH" served us the tea, looking at the size (it was too much) I just said to my brother ohh it's too much! I guess this guy Manish overheard this and later he said (while going) "Guys, Letting you know that Tea can't be shared amongst you" - I found this extremely arrogant and I still don't knw what made him think that we will share the tea! If all of us wanted tea as we ordered 4 parathas, we would've ordered 4 masala chai and anyways we didn't know the size earlier! Doesn't end here---
I didn't like his behaviour and my brother went up to the counter to ask him what made him think like that! Instead of apologising he started arguing that it's you not me and he raised voice! Waiter Mr. Manish's behaviour and way of talking was extremely extremely ARROGANT ( I still can't find the reason behind that!)
THIS WAS SO INSULTING !
Guys, if you have self respect, don't go here! Avoid it! I am telling you...
Read moreHave recently moved nearby and thought I would try it out today. Ordered indian hot lamb vindaloo takeaway, no naan's or anything else as I wanted to test out the curry first. There was a dude in the kitchen who stared at me as I ordered only the curry. Didn't have to wait too long. Interior and location was good. The rice and naan were covered in a brown paper bag which was initially nice as I was carrying other things.
When I got home I noted that both the curry and rice box were half full (no I'm not exaggerating). Amusing, but I think the smaller portion size was good for lunch. The spice level was good, but somehow the sauce was bland which is weird for a vindaloo. But what really took the cake was the lamb was unevenly cooked. Some pieces were tough and dry while others had a chewy soft center. Needless to say I don't...
