The females in our group were refused entry to the facilities, and were directed to the port-a-loos, whilst the male part of our group were able to walk in and out using the on-site facilities with no questions asked. This is the bazaar situation we encountered whilst watching Diwali yesterday. We ended up trying to navigate the half derelict cinema complex next door to relieve ourselves.
We had all come from an earlier engagement and fancied sitting on the terrace with a beer to watch the live performances as we were in the area. When confronting the grey haired manager about this situation, his only comment was that the men were 'customers' - i was literally mind blown!!! I literally had a coffee ticket in my hand at the time!! I told him he was disgusting, he just turned and walked away offering no apology. I do not think this person is fit to work in hospitality and as you can tell it made my blood boil how misogynistic his...

The food was not extraordinary, I could've gone to one of the hundreds of cafes around and done better with food. I asked for a brioche (warmed) and it came out still cabinet cold, so requested it to be reheated for ten seconds. I was told it had already been zapped and then given some long-winded explanation as to why it was still cold. The service was...sad! One older guy looked as though he really DID NOT want to be there - even though on our exit we all made a concerted effort of thanking them. Price was meh. Overall not a great experience and given the fact it is right in the heart of the Aotea Square you would think more effort would be put into providing a top quality service for all the tourists! Disappointing to say...
