A humble slab, of bread so plain, A culinary canvas, free from stain. But in the press, its fate is sealed, A golden transformation, now revealed. The butter melts, a slippery sheen, A silent promise, of what's unseen. Then cheese, a dream, begins to flow, A molten river, soft and slow. Perhaps some ham, a savory kiss, Or onion's bite, to add to this. Tomato slices, thin and red, A juicy whisper, softly spread. The lid comes down, a gentle clamp, Heat rising now, an eager lamp. A sizzling sound, a fragrant sigh, As transformation happens, eye to eye. The edges crisp, a golden hue, The centre soft, and gooey through. The cheese a stretch, a tempting string, A simple pleasure, toasties bring. From childhood kitchens, warm and bright, To hurried lunches, bathed in light. A quick delight, a comforting friend, A perfect snack, right to the end. So raise a bite, to this delight, The humble toastie, pure and bright. A masterpiece, of press and heat, A simple, yet utterly...
Read moreI've been wanting to come here for awhile now and I'm glad I did. I didn't have any of the toasties but we tasted some of their drinks selection. Sea Salt Cold brew (I don't remember the drink name well lol) was a 9/10, not bitter and tasted quite smooth. The matcha and strawberry drink was a 8.5/10, the drink didn't come with the strawberry topping (strawberry is out of season tho I understand ahaha, that didn't affect the rating). This drink wasn't very sweet which I liked and you can clearly taste the matcha tea in the drink, it wasn't overshadowed by the strawberry syrup at all. I'm not the biggest fan of artificial strawberry flavour which is why it was rated a little lower but nevertheless it's a great drink for people who don't drink matcha on the daily and want to try it out. For this drink I would recommend the owners to trial out freeze dried raspberries as a topping instead? I think it will compliment the drink...
Read morePretty good, nothing really to fault. The egg is perfectly jiggly and soft which kinda took me by surprise as it was also very hot still! The bread is equally very soft and squishy but toasted to perfection. The pricing is really good for what you get as well, we could've just shared a toastie as it was very filling. I had a coconut type of coffee drink and was also surprised by how delicious it was; being a huge coconut fan this was everything I dreamed of. The staff are very polite, kind and the service is relatively quick. The only downside I had was the bathroom was a little bit dark and didn't fit in with the overall vibe of the place; although this won't stop me from coming back. I'd also like to mention the glass cups are so adorable with the little toastie on them. If I could, I'd purchase...
