🇳🇴 Oslo Dining Gem: Seaport Restaurant 🐟🍽️✨

Seaport in Oslo offered an unforgettable dining experience that perfectly showcased the essence of fresh Scandinavian cuisine. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the ambiance—a cozy glass patio overlooking the bay and the city, adorned with twinkle lights that created a warm and inviting atmosphere. We opted for a three-course meal that started with mussels and fries. The mussels were tender and flavorful, paired perfectly with crisp, golden fries. For our mains, we enjoyed salmon and halibut, both impeccably cooked. The dishes highlighted the region’s emphasis on fresh fish and root vegetables, with sauces that were simple yet incredibly delicious, letting the natural flavors shine. Dessert was a highlight of the evening. We tried a unique Turkish dessert made with goat cheese and wheat, topped with vanilla ice cream—an unexpected delight with just the right amount of sweetness. We also indulged in two classic Western desserts: a rich chocolate lava cake and a perfectly executed tiramisu. Both were divine. To start the night, we toasted with glasses of crisp, light Prosecco—a fitting choice as we reunited with a friend from Denmark I hadn’t seen in 10 years. The service throughout the evening was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who made us feel welcome and unrushed. Dining at Seaport was more than just a meal; it was an experience. The combination of fresh, flavorful food, excellent service, and breathtaking views made for a memorable evening. I would highly recommend Seaport to anyone visiting Oslo—it’s a perfect spot for a special occasion or simply to enjoy the best of Scandinavian dining.

Slightly disappointed considering the good reviews. Negatives - When we were served our fish soup, one of the spoons was not washed properly, and had a bit of parsley or other old herb on the handle, as if the dishwasher wasn’t able to clean this off. It was only on the handle, but still. - Fish soup was too thin, with only 1-2 bites of fish, and underseasoned. I had one big bite of fish in my soup, my fiancé had two smaller pieces. I see other reviewers saying their fish soup was very good, so this surprised us. It was a very busy day, with lots of guests, and it was as if they thinned the soup by adding more water or stock, to be able to serve more people, but this is us speculating. But it tasted like that. We were both disappointed having read the nice reviews before coming. The fish soup was our best dish, which in our opinion says a lot. - The main fish dishes (dorade and the butter baked halibut) was way underseasoned, we had to ask for salt. The cook should taste their food, and adjust with adding and balancing the flavors, like just adding a bit of salt if it tastes bland. - When paying we were asked to wait because all three terminals were busy. It was a minor thing, as we only had to wait a few extra minutes, but we still want to mention it. Positives - Very good location, especially in the sun. Restaurant was full, and we had a nice table outside with a sunset view by the sea. - Good, polite and attentive service. They tried their best, and did a good job considering the amount of guests. All in all 3/5 stars. We hope hope you take this feedback and improve. We might not be back, even though we live close by. Well, maybe just for a beer and the sunset.

Summary- Have a fantastic evening with a lovely dinner on the waterfront. Try the Kunefe for dessert. Be sure to make a reservation. Details- The friendly and accommodating owner Erdal greeted at the entrance. He chose a good table for us. We enjoyed talking to our waitresses Shradha and Donille. Their service was good. Right away, they bought us a jug of ice water. We had six oysters on the half shell. Fresh! For entrees, we had mussels with tagliatelle in cream sauce and grilled dorade (the whole fish). The mussels and fish were good. The pasta itself was average, but the sauce and accompanying bread were nice. For drinks, the Poretti draft beer and Aquavit Linie were just ok. Nothing special. The Harahorn Pink Gin & Tonic (with an orange slice and raspberries) was worth it. I recommend it. The highlight of the evening was the Kunefe with ice cream dessert was amazing. Best we ever had, and we have tried kunefe in many countries. We relayed our happiness to the owner.

Seaport Restaurant in Sørenga/Bjørvika offers a dining experience as delightful as its stunning waterfront location. Nestled right by the water, the restaurant boasts beautiful views of the Oslo Fjord, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal with a picturesque backdrop. The menu is a celebration of fresh, high-quality ingredients, with a focus on seafood that perfectly complements the coastal setting. The calamari rings are a standout—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned just right. Another highlight is the salmon lax, expertly prepared with a delicate balance of flavors that showcases the natural richness of the fish. For dessert, the tiramisu is a must-try. It’s light, creamy, and indulgent, offering a perfect sweet note to end your meal. The portion sizes are generous, and the presentation of each dish is as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate.
