If you are craving a taste of American pies while you are in Cusco, this is the place! I was in my way to dinner and saw that they had Chocolate cream pie, so planned on stopping there for dessert. Unfortunately I filled up on dinner and decided I would skip dessert that night and make back to F*ck Your Diet the next night. Well, I did go back but they had sold out of the chocolate cream pie (The lesson here is if you see they have something you want, don’t delay because they will sell out!) So instead I got the Chips Ahoy pie, the person I was with got the Strawberry Apple pie. We were both extremely satisfied with our choices. I have been traveling for a while and miss having homemade pies with real homemade whipped cream and homemade crusts. The owner was really nice, as were the employees. And the service was excellent. I look forward to stopping in again before I leave Cusco....
Read moreABSOLUTELY YES! Walked by and saw Strawberry “Rhubarb” on the chalk board outside so I impulsively was magnetized in. The pie was made with strawberry and star fruit instead of Rhubarb. The crust was a perfect consistency- crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. Honestly if I wasn’t leaving Cusco tomorrow I’d go back and order a whole pie for myself.
The owner is such a welcoming and easy to talk to guy. Inherently Peruvian but born and raised in NY/NJ. After years of working on and traveling for airlines (which is when he would try pies in every city he landed in) he decided to go back to his roots in Peru.
Once in Peru he tried a pie at a market and discovered that it was not what he expected, thus concluding that there is an opportunity for mouth watering pies in Peru!
Can’t wait...
Read moreThis place is amazing, my daughter and I walked by this spot each night on our way home, and made sure we stopped. We would grab some pie, and hot chocolate to enjoy and the end of the day. You certainly earn it walking around up hill all day. The owner was very polite and spoke perfect English. He offered other good restaurants, and was truly welcoming. Over our few weeks, we became regulars and were greeted as so every time we stopped by. Now the pie…. Seriously it’s some of the best pie I have ever had, and it was my favorite treat well visiting. You have to get there early, as some of the pies sell out, but even the ones left are superb. I miss this place, and truly wish them continued success.
Thanks for all the pie and hot...
