So we usually go and eat at Japanese places as we are very fond of their cuisine. Since it was payday we decided to splurge a little as to reward ourselves for the day we have. So, here we are and decided to give Santouka a try. First off, Not sure if they judge customers based on how they appear but definitely did not enjoy the service at this location. Sure I dress very casual to eat at this establishment but its on a Mall so do not expect button down shirts with pleated pants or a suit and tie as a requirement to dine at this facility. Upon entering we were told to seat at the table of our choosing as guided by the staff. Whilst there; a random customer decided to move to our table without the staff being notified so I advised the staff member that told us where to seat and instead of advising the other customer that the table were already offered to us the staff didnt do or say anything to the other customer, instead we were the ones who had to adjust to either take the disrespectful customer's table after they have cleaned it or the other option would be for us to wait for another table. At first ok no big deal its just a table, got our menu and decided on what we wanted. When we were ready to order it took a couple of calls of attention and a few more servers passing by before taking our order. We placed 3 orders from the menu, not very complicated; one of them was a Set Meal I'll come back to this later. The 2 orders have arrived, the set meal and the other order. After a few more minutes we were still wondering where our 3rd order is. Called the attention of another staff member to ask "have they placed the 3rd order". Lo and behold THE 3RD ORDER WAS NOT PLACED; we wasted time, the food we were supposedly be eating by now is not hot anymore but rather warm. When we were about to eat guess what.... there are NO UTENSILS whatsoever not even a glass or offer for water. I had to ask for these things thinking I am at a SELF-SERVICE establishment and here I thought we were at a TABLE SERVICE restaurant cause they do charge a Service Fee. Okay now we finally started eating the food, and it was good. Definitely enjoyable. After our meal, I remembered seeing a green sphere on one of the Menu images for the Set Meal and I thought that could be Matcha Ice cream. Looked at the Menu again and did confirm that I didnt have it on any of our orders. Had to call the attention of another Staff member AGAIN to ask if that other green item was for marketing purposes only and I was told it was not and I was right it was Matcha Ice cream! The staff told me that they dont put it out at the same time with the meal which does makes sense cause it will melt by the time the guest's Entrees are done but would've APPRECIATED IT IF THE SERVER HAD ADVISED US OF IT EITHER UPON ORDERING OR UPON SERVING. I really wouldn't call this place short-staffed while we were there but undertrained or unmotivated? Most definitely! There are other Japanese SELF SERVICE establishments within the mall that are employing much more motivated and enthusiastic staff members with more...
Read moreHi. I love your place so much that after being on liquid diet for 3 days, I went to your place and ordered for a ramen for me and my husband. We shared one large order of the Shio Ramen. I am still on soft diet and I knew I could not eat much especially the noodles that is why I asked your server if I can buy a cup or even a half cup of the broth of the ramen since that’s all that I could really take for the meantime. I told them that I was willing to pay. The server replied that they cannot do that for me. They said that the broth is measured for the day and they could not spare me. I just hope that you can do something about this. This does not happen all the time. I am a special case who happened to crave for your ramen. A cup or a half cup of broth that I was willing to pay would not hurt. I hope you will do something about this. This is definitely insensitive and...
Read moreI enjoy santouka ramen at the Costa Mesa, California location so I wanted to try it here in the Phillipines. I entered the restaurant to get a warm welcome and it went downhill from there. I ordered the a set. The water glass had a pepper flakes in it, so they waitress brought me another glass. The food came out in a timely manner but there was a long hair right in the middle of my cutlet. The waiter took it back without a word. There was no apology they just bought be another. Service was pretty much non existent but one of the waitresses ran to give back my phone I left on the table. +1 * to...
