Hello. Just this evening my sister and I went to their Valero branch. It was our first time. In fact, we were excited to try it out because of the countless good reviews. The ambience was excellent. Everything was perfect until we had our avocado milkshake. I must say I was rather disappointed. My sister told me about this white thing she almost ingested from the milkshake which turned out to be a shredded plastic seal cap from I guess your milk carton. I called for the waiter and told him about it. They replaced it. See, here’s what really annoyed me, your staff did not even apologize. Still I chose to let it go. I was making excuses (for your staff) in my head. Maybe the one in charge with the milkshake has something going on in her/his life she didn’t even notice the plastic cap. Moments later, I experienced the same thing. Plastic cap with shredded edges. I realized I probably ingested some of the plastic bits already. I asked for the manager but a staff named Alodie went to my surprise. This struck me because- first, why is there no manager available at this hour? Second, Ms. Alodie only apologized when I practically asked her to. I’m appalled about how your staff handle situations such as this. That thing could have brought me a trip to the ER. Not knowing if this plastic cap is highly toxic. What if the worst case scenario happened? I really didn’t want to state the obvious. But I felt like I shouldn’t have to pay for it. Instead, when they handed over our bill there it was! I was really not in the mood to argue anymore. So I paid for it. You see, I wanted to just eat tonight and enjoy. Unfortunately, this happened. I expected a very good service from an establishment highly recommended not to mention expensive such as theirs. I hope they take this seriously. What happened to us may actually...
Read moreWe’ve been to this restaurant brand several times already and truly love their food, though there’s always something that keeps the experience from being perfect.
We ordered the Tinapa Rice and Dinuguan, both topped with chicharon. Unfortunately, the chicharon was rancid and chewy instead of crisp, which took away from the otherwise good dishes. The Tinapa Rice was flavorful and not oily, while the Dinuguan had a nice savory depth. The cheese puto that came with it was tasty, just a bit dry and crumbly.
The Bistek Tagalog had a well-balanced mix of savory and sour with lots of sauce that paired perfectly with rice. The onions added sweetness that complemented the tangy soy-calamansi blend. It would’ve been even better if the same tender cut of beef was used but with less fat.
The Longanisa Skewers were beautifully presented — plump, juicy, and served with a creative eggy soy dip that made every bite rich and flavorful. It could be even better though if leaner meat were used for a firmer, meatier bite.
The store manager was attentive and had a candle brought to our table when she noticed us waving off mosquitoes. We capped off the meal with their Wildflour Group Coconut Pie, which we asked to be toasted — warm, crisp, and so much better than the regular version....
Read moreDon't go here. This place is terrible. And don't take that lightly, because I love most of the places that I go to in the Philippines, primarily because of the excellent service and lovely attitude of the Filipino people. For unknown reason, this place has workers that just don't care and have adopted a very strange attitude toward its clients. It was so bad in fact, that I cancelled out my 10-days of breakfast there with the Sphere (the hotel next door), and did NOT receive any refund at all for anything, including the unused days and never went back. I just refuse to be treated in a poor manner. Maybe they have some kind of dispute with the Sphere or dislike their arrangement, I don't know. And by they way, they were called "Little Flour" prior to changing their name suddenly, mid-trip. Yeah, go figure. There's always a reason for changing your name out...
