Ehh... Honest review? Well, this place was so hyped, so my boyfriend and I decided to eat here. Upon entering, we were welcomed by this nice guy who seated us by the window. After looking at their menu, which looked interesting by the way, I called the lady over, and she took our order. However, she was also acting rude, saying things like "Okay, so you're getting these?" Then I said, "Yeah." Anyway, after a while, she shouted the amount of our order (maybe because that's how they do it there, paying first before you eat). No complaints about that. Then she said, "We only accept CASH" 📢📢📢Okay, then we paid. And the food arrived. It looked really nice, "instagrammable"; however, the taste was mediocre. Other restaurants would have been more scrumptious at a cheaper price.Returning to the lady (I hope the management does something about this), she continued talking to the other staff behind our backs, like "Why are we getting customers now? It's closing time!" blah blah. And then she kept going on about stuff. She was so loud. And then I got triggered when she tried to copy my voice when I ordered. She was like, "Number 3 with this," and stared at me shortly. I was like, "Girl, what is your problem???" in my head, lmao. Anyway, I'll give it 3 stars. As people who always eat out like 3 times a week because we don't have time to cook at home due to other important responsibilities, this one made me remove this restaurant from my list of...
Read moreKong Noodles, a restaurant specializing in pan Asian inspired cuisine, unfortunately falls short of expectations. The friendly and welcoming face of Chef Gerard D'Ombrille, affectionately known as Gezza, sets a positive tone upon entering the establishment. Gezza's Australian background and extensive experience in Indonesia and Singapore indicate a promising culinary journey.
However, the dining experience at Kong Noodles is marred by the uncomfortably hot environment caused by the open kitchen setup. With temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees Celsius, it becomes challenging to fully enjoy the meal. The lack of proper ventilation or cooling measures detracts from the overall dining experience.
In terms of the cuisine itself, Kong Noodles serves mediocre pan Asian fare. While the menu offers a variety of dishes, the execution lacks the finesse and creativity needed to stand out. The flavors often fall within the realm of predictability, failing to leave a lasting impression.
Despite the amiable Chef Gezza, the uncomfortable heat and mediocre cuisine at Kong Noodles make it difficult to recommend this establishment for a truly enjoyable...
Read moreCame here at lunch time and the place was indeed packed! They have few seats lang so better to go early or during off-peak hours.
We got #6 with pork, and the off-menu sticky tofu.
(+-) #6 was actually yummy naman and pretty big serving (good for 2 na actually), but maybe for its price nothing super special (+) Sticky tofu was sooo good i'm still dreaming about it now🤤 It came with rice which was nice since the sauce was rich and bagay with the rice. Idk what they put in that sauce but it was flavor bomb without being umay. They have this with spareribs din if im not mistaken so if youre not a fan of tofu maybe the spareribs would work as well.
(++) Really want to commend their preparation and presentation of the dishes, since it was an open kitchen we could see how they made the dishes, and super intricate ng gawa nila like may specific placements yung mga garnish sa dish hindi yung they just dump the garnish on top. Plus they cleaned the plate before serving like yung sa mga fancy restaurants na pinupunasan the sides of the plate before they serve so A+...
