Señor Pollo used to be my late night eat of choice, but lately the quality has seen a decline (or maybe this branch). I ordered 2 cilantro garlic rice for my sides, and it seemed like they hardly had enough for 2. One bowl was noticeably less, and it was all the rice at the bottom of the cooker, i.e. tutong. I'm a fan sometimes of those crunchy rice bits, but this wasn't the enjoyable variety that you get from the bottom of a hot bowl of bibimbap -- this was just sad, dry, old rice that would fly out of mouth if you try to bite it with your front teeth. It also feels like the chicken is not fresh, like they just reheat it. This is the 2nd time I experienced it from this branch. It's a good thing the sauces are tasty, so I just enjoyed those tho again 2nd time that one of the sauces feel like it's about to go sour. Then again those 2 times I ate past 9pm so maybe they just don't make the stuff fresh when it's too late. Sort of reminds me of this scene from Chef wherein Jon Favreau stopped his kid from serving the burnt sandwich. They should've done the same for the rice. Oh and again the chicken's so dry cry Whereas the Señor Pollo along Ebro feels like a bustling labor of love, this one feels like that neglected second kid of jaded parents. Sad. I hope they give this branch some TLC, cos otherwise people are just better off eating...
Read moreLet me say 'WOW, deliciosa' I got take-way and service was crisp, helpful and genuine. I did not try the fried chicken but if it is as good as the Latin Roasted Chicken, which was better than good, great! then I want to try if some day. Roasted chicken, garlic-cilantro enfused white rice, Colombian stewed beans in a thick very nice flavor gravy of juice. The chicken is stellar, perfected roasted, seasoned, properly tender & + juicy. The sides basically perfectly done. I really can't overrate this place and I speak from a guy who has lived in Latin America. BTW: chicken comes with 3-side sauces to dip in and each hit the mark. As much as I love fried chicken do not pass up on this place for fast food next door. They deliver a home cooked, savory, healthy treasure for the tummy. Note: if you staying at Eton Towers, eat at the restaurant, this is a hands on, juicy meal not so suitable for trying to eat in a hotel bed but let me say the take-away meal is meticulously packaged for safe take/delivery. They cut no corners. Just warning how juicy...
Read moreWe went here after going to Ayala Triangle's lights show. We decided to go here because it's less crowded on a Saturday night. The food is hit or miss. The hit is the chimichurri and sweet potato mash, while the Mac and cheese disappoints. The Mac is hard and probably undercooked, and the cheese sauce is a sad attempt to make Chiz Whiz a sauce. There's no bechamel at all in that Mac and cheese. Anyway, what to really love in this place are the drinks. Their Cuba Libre at ₱110 is a bang for your buck already, but if you have money to spare, go for the Don Papa version. Their rum sour is also good. It's like lemonade for adults. They don't have mojito though, I'll probably try that next time. In short, this is a good place for a quiet...
