5 stars for food and iced latte. Beef Angus tapa is filling and delicious.
1 star for service. Service was fine until I asked for the check, upon review I swore my dish was not the price listed on my check so I asked for the menu. They brought the bigger lunch menu that I didn't order from, so I said the other menu. When that was brought there was a 70 pesos difference between the price listed on the menu versus the price I was charged. Now, was it on purpose, who knows but the waiter knew the discrepancy. And yes, 70 pesos might not be much, but again, it's me who decides where my money goes.
On receiving my new bill, I gave 1000 expecting change for my 800 bill. I continued to sit waiting for my change for 5 minutes, after 5 minutes it was obvious they decided to not bring it. Now, my biggest problem so far in Manila is the expectation of a tip for poor service and attitude, blatantly trying to rip me off (my few interactions with cab drivers) but I did not expect it to happen in a restaurant attached to Eton Towers. I decide to tip, not the other way around. With covid, it's obvious that there is a huge income disparity in this country but things like this become frustrating as a traveler. It pains me to write this but I'm doing it so that tourists know that this is something to watch out for everywhere, which is unfortunate because it becomes much harder to enjoy...

Ok, we know the food is nice, but pricey. You are also denied a reasonably priced San Miguel Light and pushed to minimum 250 P beers
BUT.... THE SERVICE..... 🙄
With only one or two exceptions, most staff are slow and unresponsive
Generally they are viewed conversing with each other, often not even facing each other
The other classic 'disinterested' characteristic is avoiding eye contact
I had finished my meal, pushed my plates away and sat there looking at everyone who walked past me. For 20 minutes, a dozen or more staff walked past and looked straight ahead rather than at ANY customers
They are in a responsive-ONLY bubble - the are not proactively looking for customers' needs in case they have to do anything
It's not their fault entirely - they are low paid and unmotivated (very evidently)
But the management is so poor and avoiding effort or conflict that they just tolerate this apalling service malaise
Sloppy, lazy management
Even waving my hand around eventually, they tried their best not to see and then, with an empty restaurant almost it took 5 minutes to get my bill. The Cashier walked off into the back room during the process, prioritising something else ahead of a paying client.

Food & Drink We were with guests who had pre-ordered two different chicken dishes, and both were excellent — tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I’m not sure exactly which ones they ordered, but whatever they picked, it was a strong showing from the kitchen. We also ordered lattes, which unfortunately never arrived. We had to place the order again after waiting far too long. The drinks were good once they came, but the delay definitely took away from the flow of the meal.
Service The staff were polite, but the service felt disorganized. Forgetting coffee orders, especially something as straightforward as lattes, shouldn’t happen at a place like this. It wasn’t a bad experience overall, but for a premium café, the attention to detail was lacking.
Atmosphere The Eton Tower location is clean and thoughtfully designed. It’s a lovely space — modern, calm, and ideal for both social and solo meals. The ambiance helped carry the experience when the service slipped.
Final Thoughts Dean & DeLuca delivered on flavor and setting, but the service needs tightening. Great food deserves great follow-through, and if they can smooth out the guest experience, it would be...
