The place was nice, people nowadays will love to have their photos taken with the tastefully done and not to garish interiors.
For starters we had the salmon tostada and the patata huevo con chorizo, both of which didn't disappoint.
For the salad I had the grilled marinated chicken salad. Am not much of a fan of chicken in salads, and would care much less for salads with the veggies shredded. But all of this are quite forgiven with how great it was. Even so my 10 year old daughter liked it so much as well; it's not everyday that you'd get a kid eat his or her greens.
For mains we had the Sinulog roasted chicken with the lechon stuffing. Maybe I missed where the lechon stuffing came in bit overall the dish is superb and highly recommended.
The Arroz Bringhe was my runaway favorite and would definitely have it again if I were to return. While I'm not a fan of Kapampangan longaniza it provided a nice counterbalance to the chorizo.
We also had the pancit luglog but unfortunately I'm allergic to shrimp and crab, so no way for me to leave a review on that one.
As it was my birthday there was the usual complementary personal cake with some revelry by the staff.
Staff was highly commendable with their prompt service, and while it didn't appear to be a busy evening the speed of service and proactive staff proved to be one of their stronger points. I hope that they would be able to maintain this level of service for a much longer time.
Overall the place is highly recommended and would like to thank the staff for their exemplary service. Will...
Read moreI ordered Sinulog at Casa Buenas and enjoyed the experience of dining alone. It felt like being welcomed into a Filipino home—warm, familiar, and comforting, with a nice touch in presentation and flavor. The dish arrived as a beautifully roasted chicken, golden and shiny, topped with crisp skin and served with cherry tomatoes. It looked amazing, and the first bite proved it was more than just a pretty plate.
The chicken was tender and juicy, with a smoky and savory taste like Cebu’s lechon. The stuffing included traditional Cebuano flavors, adding extra taste, though I wanted the lechon filling to be stronger. Still, each bite was satisfying. The combination of crisp skin, seasoned meat, and mild stuffing made the dish feel festive, even when I was eating alone.
Dining solo let me enjoy the restaurant’s atmosphere. The decor, inspired by a bahay na bato, matched the traditional menu well. The wooden details, solihiya chairs, and capiz accents made the space feel like home, adding to the nostalgia of the Sinulog. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, making my meal feel personal, even at a table for one.
Overall, Casa Buenas’ Sinulog combines tradition and refinement. It captures the essence of Filipino comfort food while presenting it in a familiar yet special way—a reminder that dining alone can still feel like a...
Read moreWe had such a great experience dining at Casa Buenas in Newport Mall! From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and attentive — they really made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
The place is spacious and beautiful, with a mix of old and modern Filipino design that made it feel both homey and elegant at the same time.
As for the food — sobrang sarap! We started with their complimentary bread served with a selection of butter and Casa Buenas Brew (P228), and both were just enough as patikim. They next served, Okoy de Pulpo (P490) and it was SO good (our fave), as in mapapapikit ka talaga sa sarap! For our mains, we ordered the Paella Negra (P1700, good for 2 - 3 persons), Lengua De Buey Cremosa (P950) and Tortang Talong (P350). Not only does it look good, it tastes amazing too!
We were celebrating my Mom’s 67th birthday, and they made it even more special by surprising her with a complimentary cake and singing for her. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made the night even more memorable for all of us.
Thank you, Casa Buenas, for the wonderful experience! Definitely...
